Lorne: My little prince. Oh…what did they do to you? Angel: Nina…tried to…eat me. Lorne: Oh, you're--medic! You're gonna make it Angel. Just don't stop fighting. Doctor! Is there a Gepetto in the house?

It's not that I'm the only one, it's that I'm the honest one.

And you're activated. Yay me.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Thanks, Jackal!

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Polter-Cow: yes, there is a gossi fan club out there, and yes, it is a slightly strange and weird thing. If only these people met me, they'd be so disappointed.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I feel the same way.

I meant about my own fan club.

Yeah. Although, note, there isn't actually a fan club. I think I just became the STD (that's Socially, perverts) of the Serenity fans in 2005 and a lot of those people stick on. I've met a lot of them, though, and they're pretty much wonderful people. But as my girlfriend rightly pointed out, it's crazy a majority of the discussion about the Drive fansite on Whedonesque is about the fan, not the site. I had called myself Kevin on there to be under cover. I'm not going to be working for the CIA any time soon, I think.

Heh. I think you have a much bigger and more active fan club than I do. I just get random people e-mailing me about Veronica Mars things as if I'm the only person who knows them. And/or I'm the only stranger that person feels comfortable e-mailing out of the blue. I don't know how I've managed to avoid the crazies, really; everyone's been pretty cool about it. As long as I stay out of the hate memes! Which I don't.

I think the penis-talk'll overtake that.

Boo.

More with the "and," less of the "or." In my case anyway.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

In fairness, I've only ever had two bad (other) fan experiences. One person vaguely threatened me for early tickets to a Serenity screening in the UK. The other, I've forgotten. Some of the fans have actually be extremely generous, sweet kind hearted with me, and I met my best friend (Kirsty) amongst them.

The active thing stems back to the UK Serenity site. I was in the fortunate position where the studio ultimately trusted me to coordinate the UK online publicity for the film, which involved getting truck loads of free comics, books, magazines, screening tickets, premiere tickets, TV appearances and more to give out to fellow fans. I had a huge amount of fun with it all, but it made me the focus of the whole thing, which I'm never comfortable with, because at the end of the day, what was my contribution to Serenity? Uhm, nothing. A website or two. Hence why I handed the UK Serenity site to two moderators, and the US site my user account just looks like a normal user.

Anyway, needless to say I'm goin' to be getting Allyson's fandom related book, to see if it provides insight into the kind of things I see online, as I've never understood it fully.
