How did your brain even learn human speech? I'm just so curious.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

God, why do I click? I hate Variety-speak so much.

they could be speaking greek to me and it would make about as much sense. it almost feels like their own brand of chatspeak. *shakes head*

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

You've gotta get ankle in there, Allyson.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

The lead will be played by Nathan Fillion

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

At the start of Drive season 2, Violet wakes up lying on road, with GREEN HAIR, unable to remember the last two years.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

it almost feels like their own brand of chatspeak.

That's so it! I see the word "laffer" and cringe. I mean, I think it's worse than chatspeak because I've actually grown to embrace some chatspeak (like "pwn," for example).

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

You will soon embrace laffer, too. Lolz0r.

ETA: I just sold my soul to make this post.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It predates chatspeak by a healthy amount. And bits of it have gained more inroads into the way many of us speak.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I like Variety-speak. They are having fun with language, and it's a tie to show business history. Variety has been around FOREVER (since 1905), and it's nice to think of cigar-chomping impresarios in the 20's reading the same kind of words as we do now.
