Is it just me or is this season stranger than usual?

Fox decides to drop the The Wedding Album and, instead, buys a new series from David E. Kelley called The Wedding Store.

Isn't that the show they've been pimping for weeks now in commercials? Is that the fastest cancellation ever?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

From that article:

Kelley continues to work on both the pilot for "Life on Mars," which is a contender for ABC's fall sked

Are they already remaking Life on Mars, the British series where the detective time travels back to the '70s OR DOES HE?

Oh great, now the little girl and doll test from the pattern can traumatize millions of new American viewers!

CBS also cancelled a show last month before it aired. I think it's the hot new trend.

Preemptive cancellations are the new black.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Are they already remaking Life on Mars, the British series where the detective time travels back to the '70s OR DOES HE?

Yep.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Shit. I vaguely heard about Life on Mars remake and was hoping that'd be just a rumour. The city of Manchester is such a strong facet of the show, I'm having a hard time imagining it set in America. And I wonder what kind of soundtrack the new series is going to use, since the vintage 70's rock songs play such a big role in setting the mood. Also, David E. Kelly? Not really a good fit for the material.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Oh great, now the little girl and doll test from the pattern can traumatize millions of new American viewers!

Ha! I haven't watched the show, but this test pattern is a popular subject in the TWoP thread about things on TV that have scarred you for life.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, David E. Kelly? Not really a good fit for the material.

Seriously.

Isn't that the show they've been pimping for weeks now in commercials? Is that the fastest cancellation ever?

No, the one they've been pimping will air on ABC, starring Marla Sokoloff; I think it premieres at the end of this month. I don't think anyone will watch it, though, so they might as well cancel it now.
