I'm going to go out on a limb and say they're worth losing the movie.
Yup. 'S what I thought. They're lovely, shallow, floor-to-ceiling built-ins for paperbacks, all along both sides of the hall. Four-inch deep shelves, with eight-inch spaces between the shelves. No more double and triple shelving!
We are also doing a book-purge. Which is sad-making. But really, we have books we'll never re-read, so they might as well go. And also? I replaced some of my long-lost original Nancy Drews, at not inconsiderable expense several years ago. On re-reading them, I was aghast at how classist and racist they are. They are collectors' items, so I'm sure I'll get their purchase price at least on ebay or Amazon. I don't really want them in the house.
It's a shame when your childhood talismans turn out to be tarnished.
AIMEE!!!! Look what I finished this morning? [link] (the picture TOTALLY doesn't do it justice). All I have left is to get the yarn ends in and put the ribbon around it, which should happen this weekend. Then it'll be in the mail. YAY! It's SO cute!
(I hope it fits. I'm so nervous. I've never made clothes before.)
Oh, that's adorable, vw! Good for you. We want pictures on the model, of course.
And speaking of which, Aimee, insent shortly.
Ohh, -t, where? I crewed a production of it at CCCT (Contra Costa Community Theater) years ago.
It was at the Willows in Concord. This is the theater's 30th season and they decided to make it a Greatest Hits - they polled the audiences last season for the favorites of the last 29 years and put them on again. It's made for a great season.
I didn't know that Nixon had asked for one of the songs in 1776 to be omitted from the movie before last night.
Yay for found money, vw!
Oh vw! It's so beautiful! I can't wait to get it on her!
cries cause Deena doesn't love her anymore.
That's adorable, vw! I'm sure the princess will look adorable in it.
Let's try this again - 100 Posts to go!!!
Oh, cute dress!
And yay bookshelves! Mmmmm, custom fitted built-ins.
I should have some breakfast beyond coffee.
eta: maybe eating will help with this inability to type I seem to have developed.
Was that Cool, Cool Considerate Men? I mean, because, otherwise, I suppose he was unsuccessful.
"Most men with nothing would rather protect the possibility of becoming rich than face the reality of being poor." Yeah, I could see that being a thing.
Aimee! Empress! I couldn't love you more!
(Now can I make art for you?)
