Uh, are we gonna fight, or is there just gonna be a monster sarcasm rally?

Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It's been at least two different places, and maybe three, but then grocery store floral departments probably are the ones most likely to be needing wacky-gasses to preserve the flowers they sell, like Ginger was saying.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Poor Bec! I hope they didn't charge her for that or comped her in some way.

Yeah, they gave her the whole lot (hair and the rest of the makeup job too) for free. Which is really the least they could do.

She's had a rough few years of it, too.

She has. You know, the real wedding present I gave her was simply to be happy for her. She's the kind to worry, and she felt awful about the way our breakup left me. Letting her know I'm doing fine and she did the right thing made a big difference to her peace of mind, I know.

Billytea is indeed the best ex ever. I wish for even an iota of that warmth between Dave and me. Right now, not looking likely.

Oof. I'm sorry to hear that, Kristin. It may change with time, but it's hard.

You know what pissed me off? A man who, if there isn't EVERY single ingredient to make tacos/tostadas, says, "we can't have that." Good lord. Will the lack of refried beans KILL him?

Tell him that he's an actuary, he should be used to extrapolating from incomplete data.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Those flowers are amazing colors, Beth. Are they asters?

noone knows. well, to be acurate, someone even told us once , but the name went away. They are all over my neighborhood, some sort of volunteer. I let them stay until they go , even though they are often in the worong places But they aren't weeds, they are way too pretty for that.

Ok, there is something out of wack in my body. When I went to bed, I felt comfortably warm after hauling a load of laundry upstairs. I was looking forward to that warmth lasting until I had been under the (three) blankets long enough for my own body heat to be comfortable. But after a few minutes, my torso was chilled. Feet? Happily warm. Legs? Quite warm, almost too warm. So I turn on the electric blanket on low. So the torso sllllooooowwwwwwly warmed, while the rest of me is baking, but I don't dare kick the covers off because I know my feet will freeze. And now I can't sleep, because there is no practical way to maintain a reasonable level of comfort in all body zones.

I know I should not be miserably cold at this point - the cats are now sleeping in that adorable stretched out boneless summer sleep pose.

Dan is no help, as he only wants a sheet. And if I get close enough to him to steal his body heat, he might wake up. Which would lead to... not sleep. I wouldn't be cold, but what I want now is sleep.

Mostly lurking...

Gud and Erin, you guys ok? Just got pictures of my SIL's car, which is a mess because of 2" hail.

Mom's biopsy is today. Don't think we'll hear for a while.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I think I heard in three or four days. It just felt longer.

I have to go meet with a client this morning. Don't wanna.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Her name is Anna Chancellor, she's a distant relative of Jane Austen and she plays snooty British bitches who Don't Get The Man. It's a career.

Yes. Also in Tipping the Velvet she plays a snooty British bitch who doesn't WANT the man, as she's too busy riding the faux-butch little baby dyke (played by Diana Rigg's daughter) like a pony, and making her dress up in fantastically outrageous clothes (or lack thereof).

I heart Anna Chancellor.
