Don't let the space bugs bite!

Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Speaking from an HR perspective--they may not have that amount budgeted for salary or have a policy of starting at the low end of the range or whatever., none of it has to do with you All you can do with an offer like that is have the guts to ask, which you did, and getting turned down is not a reflection on you. Hell, they already offered you the job, right? That means they want you around.

Thanks... I think I'll just accept the offer as it stands. I screwed up in March (in my defense, it was an hour after a conference and a few hours before getting on a plane to London so I was a little more overwhelmed with stuff than usual) and need to deal with that.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, Nora, I'm sorry. But, still:

What Robin Said.

I have minor work gripes right now, but they feel unseemly compared to yours -- just some stupid people begging to be pinched.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

My work gripes include tables that were quite possibly designed by the Devil himself. Because for some ungodly reason they refuse to start anywhere other than the top of a new page if they span multiple pages.

Nora, you didn't screw up -- really. You got the job, babe! They want you more than any one else! You are #1! You are #1! You are #1!

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Kristin, you just got done with grading? *boggles* When do schools in LA get DONE? My last day was 5/30.

My last official day is the 14th. The kids were done on the 9th. In Connecticut, I usually didn't get done until June 22nd or later, though, so this seems nice and early to me.

{{{{Nora and Raq}}}} and yay VW!

Hang in there, Aimee.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

well, there's been a log going on!

Raq, sorry about the thumb but at least your hair looks terrific!

Congratulations to vw on the loan! sympathy to Nora ... and there's no real virtue in suffering if you can go to the doctor and get better easily.

For the teachers here, I saw a t-shirt that said "You can't scare me! I'm a TEACHER!" (the image was the words written in chalk on a blackboard).

And bad marketing slogan of ... well, quite a while: "Touch Dad this year". ew.

Nora, you really didn't screw up, honest. You got the job! Asking for a pay increase and being turned down smarts, yes, but still! You got the job.

ION, omg no motivation for work. I had a fabulous weekend (hanging out with Cass! Dressing up in pretty clothes and watching pretty people, some with fire!), AND we pick up the new kitties tomorrow. Against that, the will to be a productive worker bee is dying a lingering death.
