Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Guh! Gorgeous pics, ladies. I'm so in awe of all the hotties we have amongst us.
And Nora, {{{you}}} - I have my fingers crossed that your UTI goes far, far away very, very soon. Taking antibiotics right off the bat is a good thing when it's a UTI, in my opinion. I'm just *now* starting to feel about 80% of my usual self and it's been over a week since the kidney infection started. Health ~ma to you.
sj - If you need a breather or whatever to help get you through today (tomorrow, whenever), my cell is on for texting and I shouldn't be away from the desk phone too often throughout the day. {{{sj}}}
Raq, that's a fabulous haircut! ::curl envy::
Hope those antibiotics do the job, fast, Nora!
There must be a stand-up comedy camp for CJ...
Oh, Nora! That's SO sucky! Hope you feel better soon.

So, turns out I didn't need to start doing my homework for class yet. Oh, well. No wonder I was so lost! We haven't covered this stuff yet!
It's not too early for ice cream, right? Good.
CJ gets out of school on Thursday and I have made NO plans for his summer. I'm a bad mom. GAH!!!!
Our kindergarten mother e-mail list has been full of, "I signed Johnny up for this," sorts of messages.
We're a one-car family right now, and the dh's job has transferred to a place not accessible by public transit (the 2nd car died the week he was transferred and would cost more to fix than it's worth). I have signed my kids up for nothing, and I don't even care.
Maybe it's just me, but I remember the summers of my childhood as this magical time when I could just go do nothing (cf Christopher Robin), and I actually think I'm giving my kids something by giving them a season of nothing.

OMG, that would be perfect. I was just thinking about how to channel that energy. He needs a Jim Carrey school of comedy.

I do believe I read a certain Nutty one reporting ice cream for breakfast.
Wow, Fay, 1000 pounds a week?
I know, I know. I'd have to rob a bank.
But, dude. Did you SEE the ship? I didn't have any idea that this kind of thing was attainable. I mean, I spent £700 getting out to San Francisco from Egypt, so £1000 seems less horrific than it would have done before. Because - pirate tall ship!!! While I'm being a TEACHER IN SIAM!!!!!
swoons

Go Nutty! We Somervillains are cool. Or something.
Suzi, there's a list of Berkeley/Oakland/El Cerrito camps here: [link]
Maybe you can sign him up for some drama, or something.
((sj))
I think I will be ready for ice cream after I get myself some coffee. I know I will be ready for ice cream after this morning's meeting.

For what it's worth, we're seeing the first wave of "over-scheduled, over-protected" children in colleges and universities and lack of independence (and initiative) is a common complaint among professors.
