Ouch, poor Emmett. But I love what a resilient kid he is.
Honestly, it's like the only meaningful mistake he's made on the field in about 10 games. It was so public and careless, though. But his teammates were supportive and Elliott didn't bark about it at all (and usually he's QUITE verbal when somebody does something bone-headed). Actually the whole team was cheering on Eian and pulling for him - it was nice.
There's nothing worse in Little League (barring injury) than watching your kid lose his shit while he's pitching. The pressure out there can get intense.
'Course, I'll be half in the bag by then (if I'm not already). But clean!
Not a dirty drunk! That's your motto.
I'll bet it can.
Soccer was king in my 'hood when we were growing up, and a fuck-up on the field could follow you for a long-ass time - hell, even longer when you take your own psyche into account. Baseball is so much more individual, in a way - when you screw up, eyes are on you. That's gotta sting. And obviously, it did. Watching it can't have been easy either. But good on him for shaking it off and jumping back in. He's a good'un, for sure.
Not a dirty drunk! That's your motto.
It is now!
I have turned my mattress - this is how insane I am. Stop me before I do the windows!
[link] Cat v. bear. Guess who ends up in the tree.
So darned tired.
K-Bug's team played in a double elimination tournament today and lost their first two games, so we are done for the weekend. The first game was against last year's champs, a VERY good team. The second game was just plain difficult. Ah well. I get tomorrow off!!!!! K-Bug has practice tomorrow, but DH is taking her so I can work on homework and housework - and SLEEP IN.
I'm still giggling over CJ's performance last night. He is quite the over the top comedian.
So, ummm, Brenda...if I buy the bear and crank the tunes, will you show up here?
Since I typically take Ativan to ease my anxiety so I can sleep, I'm probably not the best person to ask.
Silly, you're exactly the person to ask! That's why Tom is taking it after all...
We just ordered Indian food for delivery! I love city life.
Saag paneer (spinach and cheese), Chicken Tikka Masala (mildly spicy), Aloo Gobhii (cauliflour in curry), Naan (hot tasty flat bread), Dal Makhani (creamed lentils).
Also we're watching Slings and Arrows as we tape S2 for a friend. Incidentally, Cindy, would you like a VHS tape of Slings and Arrows S1? We have several sets of the first season, and since it's coming out on DVD we can probably spare one. It is extremely satisfying and entertaining and only a six episode miniseries (so not a huge commitment).
