Sooner or later, you're gonna want it. And the second — the second — that happens, you know I'll be there. I'll slip in, have myself a real good day.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Happy Birthday, Betsy!

I am watching this week's Dr Who. It's my second episode, and I'm thinking it's not really for me. But I'm giving it a shot. The Doctor's voice reminds me so much of my friend who lives in Salford, it's eerie.

d, definitely not the best in the series. I'm over the moon for it, though. Christopher Eccelston rocks my world.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Day's report. Bec is now married. She looks very happy (there were pics). She wore a turquoisey dress, which looked very nice, but she got the makeup job from hell. She'd gone in for eyelash tinting, her regular wasn't there, the replacement let it run and stain her face. Then she rubbed Bec's face raw trying to get it off. She got married looking like the groom had backhanded her or something. (Of course, being Bec, this is falling into the 'look back and laugh' category, but I think she was pretty pissed off at the time.)

I got her the Roomba for a wedding pressie. It was well received, and it seems to be something of a hit with the dogs too.

I went over to Wallybee's for lunch today, met a couple of her friends. Well, one wasn't a friend per se, he started hanging around the Wallybee after he discovered she had a useful social contact. Then I introduced her to the joy of Google image searching, and thereby to the joy of puffins! (She checked out her dictionary, and discovered that the Chinese characters for 'puffin' mean 'big-beaked sea swallow'.) Naturally, hilarity ensued.

All in all, a good day!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

She's just the luckiest girl, that Wallybeee.

I love getting the Wallybee reports. I need some schmoop in my life, even if it is vicarious.

Poor Bec! I hope they didn't charge her for that or comped her in some way. As for pictures, photoshop!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I think it has worked out well.

Yeah, it's a good thing, too. Cuz I really don't want to have to have a custody battle over my cats, when I suspect Harvey would tell the judge he wants to stay with you, and then Sammie would say she wants to stay with Harvey.

What is even happening?

Happy Birthday, Betsy

(was her birthday Saturday, or is it today?)

Oof, poor Bec. That's horrible. I'm glad she's able to find the humor in it, and that she looks happy. I wish them well and would say "the best" if I weren't so pedantic. :) I guess I can say I wish her the best possible, which, you know, is still good, it's just not best. *cough* t /pettier-than-thou-ever-thoughtest-of-being

A Roomba is a wonderful wedding present from the World's Best Ex. Seriously billytea, I'm so glad that there is still warmth between the two of you, and I hope Bec and her husband find joy, together. She's had a rough few years of it, too.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Billytea is indeed the best ex ever. I wish for even an iota of that warmth between Dave and me. Right now, not looking likely.

Our wings are not tired.

Civility with the ex is often a good thing, but it often isn't possible until quite a long time after the parting. I'm sorry this has to be so hard Kristin.

Eeeek, poor Bec.

The Wallybee Schmoop is most excellent Schmoop.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Ah, Sunday. Before I am banished to schoolwork/reading, a few notes on the weekend so far:

1) I just made a delicious asparagus soup for lunch. We will grill lamb tonight. LAMB!

2) we were supposed to grill lamb last night, but we got sucked into a neighbor's housewarming party for 4 and a half hours, so we ate Trader Joe's mushroom in filo appetizers instead, at 10pm.

3) met many neighbors and potential Salem-ites at aforementioned party, and had a nice time.

4) I am going to make a mint sauce for the lamb which appears to contain only fresh mint, vinegar, and sugar. Interesting.

5) I do not want to do any schoolwork FOR REALS

6) Tom is doing gardening stuff, and I even helped with trying to tie up and prune the yew bushes in the back into submission. They are so sketchy looking, sigh.
