OK, ugh. All tis talk gimlets and G&T's made me think "Hey, a cool, refreshing, summery drink - that sounds cool and refreshing", but I have no gin, no tonic, no white wine, etc. I do have some Bailey's and some Framboise, and I used to drink a thing called an English Raspberry that was Chambord and cream liqueur, and while Bailey's never worked for that, I thought I could avoid teh curdling effect by not shaking over ice, just pouring and sipping. So I poured and immediately got a gelatinous mess.

I'm looking at my impatients and torenias [link] and it looks almost like they're singing with joy. "Yay! We're out of the plastic 4-packs! Alleluiah!" I'd stage a night raid to free the others, but a) I shouldn't be driving right now and b) I have nowhere to put them. So sad.

I just got an email from a friend who is helping her mother move into a retirement home in my city. She's asking her friends in my city to send her mom physical letters (ie, not email) about why they love their city. And I realized how lovely it is that she can mobilze her friends fairly immediately (not exactly now, as I am rather toasted) to help her mom settle in and feel welcome. So cool!
