Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Heh - always kind of trippy to post from mid-morning coherence into the middle of late-night nasty-placing.
Congratulations, Emily!
And congrats to Jen, wherever she may be.
P-C, yes I can listen to the m4p, and like it very much. Also, Name of the Rose is one of my favorite books ever, definite comfort-food reading.
I finally have my car back, and Mallory slept from midnight to 8 am, so he's getting back on track. Things are looking up.
And while I haven't had an undiapered child, I can't imagine letting him pee in a sink. Eww.
t very belated
Well HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Nurse!

I tried to post this yesterday, but the Internet ate my post, and I was sad, and hadn't the heart to rewrite it. But here we go again:
Bad things about today Yesterday:
- My flatmate emptying her handbag onto her clean white sheets to get rid of accumulated receipts, and a huge cockroach tumbling out of it.
Good things about today yesterday:
- It happened to her, not me. (She was grossed out, but I would have levitated in sheer terror, screamed at a pitch audible only to dogs and bats, and I would have STILL had my fingers and toes embedded in the ceiling and be making small moans of terror as I dangled from said ceiling the following morning.)
- Our landlady phoning to say that she didn't need any rent for this month, since she already has a month's rent up front as insurance and we're leaving at the end of June, but asking if we could leave her £50 towards utility bills and the like. Result!
- The discovery that the school is providing us with not just 3 months' salary to cover the summer months, but also 3 months' rent allowance (which I hadn't expected).
- Taking a felucca ride from the Corniche (10 minutes from my house) and trailing my fingers in Nile water that has travelled through Tanzania, Uganda, the Sudan and Ethiopia before reaching Egypt. Drinking chilled wine with friends and enjoying the cool breeze and the shade of the canopy on this very hot day. Standing on the prow barefoot, with a glass of good wine in one hand and some ripe cherries in the other and a nervous hope that my very nice scarf wouldn’t blow away in the wind.
- Accessorising my long black dress and swoopy black jackety thing with the record bag my Dad bought me at Easter (turquoise labels), the black and white shoes my Mum left with me when they visited at Easter, the hat I bought in San Francisco, the turquoise sequin-embroidered scarf I bought from the Khan and the turquoise liquid eyeliner I bought with Jilli and Plei.
- Going on to our friend’s villa and spending the rest of the evening there, having barbecued kofta and shish tawook with a host of yummy salads in their beautiful shady garden, the tranquillity disturbed by nothing but the call to prayer.
Oh God but I love Egypt. I really have to go back at some point, even if it's just to Cairo for a couple of days.
That sounds like a wonderful day, Fay.
It really was. We're off to Luxor next weekend for my friend N's birthday - most likely our final time there. I could send you a postcard, if you like?

Barefoot while floating on a lovely river with nice wine and ripe cherries is damn near perfect. With a fetching scarf and mysterious sunglasses (all of my best fantasies have sunglasses, I have trouble keeping my eyes open in photographs and sunglasses nicely hide this fact and/or stop me from worrying and thus shutting my eyes, so I have much nicer photos where there are sunglasses involved.) on it is wonderful.
Oh yes! Yes yes yes! Thankyou! And take a ride in a felucca for me?
(I must admit, there were no sunglasses - couldn't find them in time. Should buy some new ones, really...)
Jars, send me your snailmail addy? (thingsinvisibletosee at gmail dot com)
Insent, Fay.
ETA ask if there's anything I can send from Yorkshire that you might like?
(I must admit, there were no sunglasses - couldn't find them in time. Should buy some new ones, really...)You have no sunglasses? How do you exist in sunlight?
Jars! Sunglasses, our Fay needs sunglasses!
