ION, the vet called and left a message today. She thinks maybe Toto needs to be on a different medication for his ear infection. She's being very sweet and trying to do something without actually seeing him ('cause I can't afford another trip to the vet right now...with car rental and vet charges it'll probably be $150-$175), but now I'm worried and wondering if I should try to scrape up the money to get him seen tomorrow.
Being a mom, even just a doggie mom, is hard sometimes.

Anxiously awaiting news of whether the books are terribly smoke-damaged.
The restoration guy recommended by my friend's insurance seems to think much of them can be saved. The good news is that he's a reader too, so he'll do every thing he can. The bad news is that it looks like she'll have to move everything out of the house for about three months.
Poor Erin. If your cold was anything like the Ick, going through all that would have been absolute torture.
The current medical opinion about the cough that will not die that I have in the wake of the Ick is really an major worsening of my asthma. Who knew? Anyway, I had a nebulizer treatment, I have a new asthma drug, and I have 10 days worth of prednisone, which I hope treats me better than it did vw.
I'm off to bed because I have to work super-early tomorrow night, but THANK YOU to everyone for the congratulations. And yay to Emily!
