Poor beth. Feel better. Charmed's silly factor should help.
You should buy him a box of Chiclets every month or so.
I was going to say. Totally sounds like a Chiclet!
I have never read The Name of the Rose. I started it, like, a zillion years ago and got through maybe a chapter before putting it down. It's one of those books I always mean to go back to.
I have Name of the Rose on my dining table, I'm a few pages into it. It seems like it's going to be one of those books that I restart a few times before I finish it.
Today has been an okay day, but I've gotten tons of compliments on my hair and my outfit. Since I'm all pms-y this is a real pick me up. In fact my Boss looked at my id badge and told me I should get a new picture taken since I look so good today and since I have to renew it any way I did that.
Cindy, that's a really terrifying experience. I'm glad Christopher is alright.
Someone make me go do dishes.
I'm just so sleepy!
I read Name of the Rose a few years ago. It was a good story, even if reading it was slow going for a bit. I saw the movie after reading the book.
Thank you guys for making me feel better about having trouble getting through this book. I am on page 147 after nearly two weeks. I will prevail, however!
As long as the library allows me to keep renewing it.
He had a hard time with the second one, which is rare, but I think he thought it was worht it.
This was definitely how I felt about it. I've got quite the man-crush on Professor Eco's magnificent brain. He's one of those thinkers on par with Einstein, Hawking and Newton. That he's applied his considerable thought to semiotics and the form and function of language among humans makes it no less so. I have a copy of both The Sign of Three - a layman's (sort of) guide to semiotics, written with Thomas Sebeok - and Semiotcs and the Philosophy of Language, which is his university textbook on semiotics. I've read most of Sign of Three, and only a small part of SatPoL.
Like A Brief History of Time, SatPoL made my brain go very hurty.
((Cindy)) Sounds scary and frustrating.
