Thanks, all! Beth, I love the red kitchen -- it's my understanding that too much color can be risky for selling a house, but since I've been wanting a red room for years, it's a plus for us.
And I've been introducing all my RL friends to the nerd hole concept. I say, "... and the upstairs is listed as a bedroom, but it's really much better suited for a nerd hole" and they say, "a
what?"
And I say, "A nerd hole! The place where all the nerd stuff lives!" And they take a second and then sort of nod and say, "that's
perfect!"

amy, I LOVE your house. I think though, you should call your nerd hole a nerd loft. It's time for the nerds to take off the Klingon uniform and come up in the world.
