I tell you I have this theory. It goes where, you're the one who's not my sister. Cuz mom adopted you from a shoe box full of baby howler monkeys, and never told you cuz it could hurt your delicate baby feelings.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

GC - you at the Van Nuys courthouse?

Yes I unfortunately am.

Compassionately intolerant

::mopes into thread, plops down looking really, really bad...the kind of bad strangers say "oh dear" about when I walk by.::

I've read everything everyone has said...yays and boos and support where it is needed. I am pretty exhausted, so please forgive the lack of meara.

Good news:

  • Finally got decent medical attention including an amazing number of tests to find out what has actually been making me sick for the last 4 months.
  • Succeeded in getting through the blood draw with only personal humiliation, but no collateral damage due to the life-long needle phobia.
  • The kindly, in business for 43 years, doctor referred by a good friend charged me less than half what all the tests were priced when he learned about the situation with Fella and my not having insurance.
  • Wise doctor did not give me any new drugs until the actual culprit is uncovered. 3 unsuccessful rounds of antibiotics is enough.

Bad news:

  • Fella, who got checked out too, because I insisted he see a real doctor since his long-time doc never gave him a single test for his constant sinus problems and that disgusting snorking sound he makes constantly, was nowhere to be seen when I came out of the exam room.
  • The previous item is bad news because he had offered/promised to pay the bill since I'm about 2k in the hole dealing with the crud he gave me.
  • But he did go on and on about how happy he was with the doctor without once thanking me for the referral and even had the nerve to take credit for my phobia management. "Oh, I told him you have a phobia, so he was prepared." (um, thanks big guy. Pretty sure the doc could have figured it out on his own and, for real, YEARS of work on my part made it possible for me to survive this terribly upsetting experience YOU caused.)

I'm so sad.
I know Evan didn't make me sick on purpose. He is not a bad man. But jeez. A little less obliviosity and selfishness would be nice right about now.

He had a cow about how the bill would have to be paid in pieces, then significantly cheered up when he heard the final number but neglected to mention how he would help, if at all. 4 blocks to the Metro talking about his sinuses. Not one word of support for me.

Another friend, who I occasionally help with therapeutic conversations paid the bill for me. Made no fuss at all. Paypaled the money with the subject line: This is what friends do.

What is even happening?

More baby compliments. Aimee, I almost died when I saw Em's pictures in the F2F photos. Someone took your beautiful baby and replaced her with a beautiful toddler.

She's perfect, and I so want to meet her before she's all big. Also? The blue dress she wore to prom? Ooof. Fantastic. Did it match her eyes as well as I'm thinking it did? Just gorgeous.

Ack. I have to run and get my peeps. I think I am going to take them out to ice cream, to see if giving them a treat will cure me of my foul, foul, foul mood.

I'm sorry, Beej. I hate to say it, but the fella seems to be acting like a bit of a schmuck. But it sounds like you've found a good doctor—I hope he can get everything straightened out for you.

A BRAZILLION DOLLARS!

What we should have done, was charge for the Porn in the hospitality suite. No paying for any future F2F's. Hell, Joe alone could raked in the bucks!
