I walk. I talk. I shop, I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out. And I don't sleep on a bed of bones.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

She's better. I'm still trying to get my mother to come watch her tomorrow, so she has an additional day in which to recover. Personally, I'd like one of my own (day in which to recover), but it's not happening any time soon.

Plus, somehow, in the last week or so of high temps and me being really busy, EVERYTHING I'd planted in the parking strip died.

I give up.

Amnesia sounds good.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'm glad Lily is feeling better, but sorry about the dead plants. It sounds like amnesia is well and truly in order.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Who's got the Lethe's Bramble?

Sorry to hear about the plants too, PMM.

What is even happening?

Who's got the Lethe's Bramble?
We asked Plei to plant it in her parking strip. Um.

Plei, I hope you get your mom to watch Sickaboo. I wish you could take the day too, not that staying home with a recouping one year old is any iron-clad where rest is concerned.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

GRONK. Tom and I had a nice day. We had made plans to meet our friends D & J (and their daughter Erin) at 7:30 in the AM so that we could truck over to Dotties before too heinous of a line formed. Since I did not crawl into bed intil 2:30am thereabouts, this was pretty tough. But we both woke up without help of an alarm at 7am, and I stumbled my hungover ass into the shower and met everyone. We only had a small amount of time with them, and I was determined not to let my choice to commit alcoholic excess the previous night ruin it.

We got to Dottie's, and did end up waining in line for probably about a half an hour. But the food was well worth it. Then we went to Powell Street and took the cable car over to Hyde Street, which is where Ghiradelli Square as well as a fantastic view of the GG Bridge are. It was beautiful at that point in the day. We cabbed back to the hotel and I saw Deena, Nicole, Lee, and a buncha other folks in the lobby while we were saying our goodbyes to D&J. Then, NAP TIME. Them w got up, caught the bus to Haight Street, did the Toronado's/Rosamunde's thing so that Tom could finally check out that scene. It started pouring while we were in there. The first beer was a little rough those first few sips, due to hangover, but by the end of it I was feeling the restorative power of hops. We walked in the pouring rain till another bus came by and went up to the Upper Haight, where we went to an awesome crazy-lady owned used bookstore which reminded me of Boston's departed Victor Hugo bookstore. I bought a book for the plane and laughed at the bookstore lady's constant stream of explanation of every thing that came to her attention. She was a Buffista spirit baby, for sure. I don't know the name of the place- Hec, do you know?

Then we walked up to the Citris Club and I surrendered to the comfort and delicousness of miso soup and beef noodles. (another excellent Hec-comendation).

Now we are crashing hard in our room, drinking beer and packing.

Yeah, I went to bed. But, now, I am awake.

DH and I went to lie down at 6pm, intending to get up after about a half hour. 3 hours later, the cat woke us up. *ieee*

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Hullo there, SA, BA!
