Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

well, dang, now y'all got me thinking about trying to find out about my 15th reunion. Though I don't see anything anywhere.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Nope, never nibbled on baby toes, even Tickybox's. If I'd had the urge it would have been for naught as I'd have to somehow pry them out of Plei's mouth first. She's addicted, y'know.
Addicted? P'shaw. We could totally stop if we wanted to but Tickybox toes are divine.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I happened to be in town during my 10th HS - skipped the reunion but had breakfast with a few people who had gone, which was more than good enough.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'd actually love to go to my reunion, if there was one. There were less than a hundred people in my graduating class, I think I knew all of them, and I've kept in touch with hardly any. It's be swell to find out what they were all up to now.

But AFAIK there wasn't a 5th or 10th or 15th reunion, so I doubt there will be a 20th

Thrive to spite them

I didn't go to my 10th reunion, which was in 2002. I didn't go even though the guy organizing it contact me by email (there were only 94 graduates). At the time I was still struggling with a lot of stuff and I just didn't know how to spin the truth to put things in a more positive light.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I live 35 miles from where I went to high school. If I wanted to see those people I'd already be doing so.

Well, that's a bit of an overstatement -- there are a few folks I'm curious about.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I keep in touch with one friend from high school. I have sent donations to the h.s. alumni association. I have never yet received an invitation to a reunion, nor yet seen any evidence that they actually hold such. I stopped getting the highly sporadic alumni newsletters about 5 moves ago.

Also? I think I have a job. That wasn't so much an interview as being talked at for a couple hours by the manager, and all the clients. As one client asked me to come with her to her Special Olympics track and field practice tonight, and I fixed up another's (non-existent) papercut by running her hand under cool water, and the manager told me to call the main office in the morning to find out where they could get me some hours between now and when the guy I'm replacing goes back to the Peace Corps, I'm feeling pretty good about it. Still I think I'll wait till morning to release the ~ma back into the wild.

I got roofied at my 10th. I was there with two of my best friends who realized what was happening and took care of me. I think I will skip the 20th...

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

This conversation made me curious, so I checked my HS website, and apparently my ten-year reunion is this weekend. I never got an invitation, and in order to see any details about it online, you need to be registered with an alumnae ID, which I never got. Oh well.
