ita's right, BIDs do not trump the health concerns of you and your baby. Your a vegitarian, right? I'm thinking peanut butter and lots of beans. Also, ice cream; this is no time to skimp on desserts.
Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Also, ice cream; this is no time to skimp on desserts.
added bonus -- calcium. So none of that sorbet crap!
Cheese. Followed by cheese and some cheesecake. And olives.
Speaking of ice cream; Trader Joe's tiramisu gelato IFG!
Honestly, I think a desperation to gain weight is no less valid than a desperation to lose it, but when you factor doctor's orders and "eating for two" into it, it shouldn't even be a hesitation.
Any healthy-gaining/eating-when-you're-not-hungry tips from other Bitch mothers would be very much appreciated.I had trouble gaining weight when I was expecting Julia. Basically, do all the things they tell you not to do, when you're trying to lose weight. Eat while you watch TV or read. Eat snacks straight from the bag/package (whatever) rather than taking a reasonable portion with you, on a plate, or whatever.
I ate a bowl of cereal every single night. Eat as much as you can shove down without becoming uncomfortable, every night.
This isn't for supper, mind you. This is later on, after supper. If you eat while you're doing something to occupy your mind, it might go down easier, too.
Don't drink skim or low fat milk, either. Drink whole. Emmett and Hec will survive the five months, or can buy their own.
Also, I'm not gaining enough weight. Two pounds total since January. The MD impressed upon me rather fiercely that I must gain a pound a week between now and the next appt, or some unspecified but dire consequence will befall me.
My best friend had the same issue with her recent pregnancy with twins. And she was all "WTF!? ME having a problem gaining weight?!?" I don't think she ever put on as much as her doctor would have liked. The last couple of months she just had a hard time eating anything at all without getting major indegestion. But I'll ask her if she worked out something to eat that helped with the weight and didn't cause other problems.
Oh and her babies were 6 1/2 weeks early but totally healthy and are gaining like champs now 2+ months along. Here are some recent pictures of them with various ladies in their lives! (auntly & new camera!!! bragging)
JZ, what everyone said. Also, don't worry about it too much -- the MD will be measuring the fundus to make sure the Halloweenie is growing. What happened to me, having to be on the diabetic diet, with insulin, all three times, was that I lost weight at first, but everything I gained went right to the baby.
Cheese is good, as is peanut butter, and definitely whole milk. Cereal's a great idea as a late-night snack. Try to think healthy, but remember, this is the time to indulge if you're not gaining enough. Ice cream! Milkshakes! Cookies! Muffins! Go for it.
Oh yes! PEANUT BUTTER. I think that was my bff's saving food item.
I didn't gain enough at first, either. Nothing appealed to me. I ate crudites and ranch dip for weeks.
Then, in th elatter part of my second trimester, WHOA. Appetite came back. And weight piled on.
