Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Not only are they pregnant, but today is their anniversary. We were going to get them the traditional second year gift of an EPT, but they went and spoiled everything.

We only wanted duct tape.

But yes. There's a baby girl on the way. Daisy, I was just talking about you today. And consequently missing you.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

We only wanted duct tape.
Sure, now you tell us. Would a gift registry have killed you?

You know what's better than a registry? Bunch of your friends getting you a TiVo.

Sorry, you're getting a baby.

Good thing we already got the Tivo.

You know what I did when Emmett was a baby? Taped things. With a VCR. Uphill in the snow.

::pauses tv::

::pointedly::

Not. Sleep.

I think you are being remarkably optomistic that you will have time to watch tv at all.

On the up side? New baby. Which is also pretty cool.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

DVDs, baby.

I've watched many seasons of MI-5, two seasons of VMars, and large amounts of Arrested Development since having a baby, not to mention two seasons of Farscape, a season and a half of Due South, and most of a season of Stargate.

The first 6 or so months are prime TV time, with viewing hour availability shrinking as mobility increases.

Not. Sleep.

Not just his baby years. He didn't sleep through the night until he was about 5.

No, as Ple notes you get your bits and pieces of time. Hence the DVDs, VCR strategies and now the glorious Tivo. You can never watch shows while they're on, but you do get their naptime. There's also a fair amount of snuggle time on the couch while you're drinking your coffee and they're busy gaping at your chinline.

It's movies you never get to see. But eventually they come around on DVD.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

But yummy food was had and I had a really nice California wine called Malvasia Blanca from the Bonny Doon vineyard.

Sweet! I don't know the restaurant, but I love all things Bonny Doon.
