Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Happy Mother's Day all.
I was up at 5am. Not up and dressed, but sitting in bed working. Ugh. I made my todo list. I have 3 weeks worth of work to do in the 3 days I have left before I leave for SF. Sigh. It's too much. It is physically impossible to do even all the urgent stuff. I am sorting by super urgent, stuff I can delegate, etc. And I have no coffee until I get to the store to buy filters.
Since I was up early I did put together the few pictures from Brendon's 8th grade dance. At 14 they range in appearance from little kids to full grown adults. My friend and I were trying to figure out if a couple of the girls were the moms. The pictures are not great because I was trying to not be too intrusive. I hope the school pictures are better.

Enjoy. I'm off to buy coffee filters, and milk.
eta: give me a moment to fix a link on that page...
ok, link fixed. I need to resize some pictures, but that will have to wait until coffee has been consumed.
I think I am too excited about going to San Francisco to sleep.
Totally
grok that.
I was dreaming about my travel arrangements last night, and I remember realising only when I'd arrived at the airport that I'd packed all the assorted silly things, but had forgotten to bring the printout of my e-ticket, and that I had no idea what flight I was actually supposed to get on.
...why yes, I
have
just printed it out again. And highlighted all the key bits. And will be wearing it next to my heart from now until I get to SF.
What day do you leave, Fay?
still SO excited that I'm going!
OMG, I can't believe those folks are in EIGHTH GRADE. wow.
Honestly, I woke up at 3:30am and was like, I could get up now. But I didn't and dozed on and off till just before 7. Not insomnia, though, exactly.
I've woken up about that time for the last handful of days, and I'm not going on any exciting trip. Rip. Off.
I think I am too excited about going to San Francisco to sleep.
Nora, until I read Fay's quote-back of this, I parsed this as you being overly excited about going to SF in order to sleep.

Oh, Laura, he's so so handsome. The picture of him leaning on the pole waiting for his date is like something out of a movie. His date is very pretty, too. I love her wrist corsage. Good job, mom.
Great pictures, Laura. I hope the kids had fun.
Last night, coming off the BART in Millbrae, I ran into a bunch of kids who were obviously on their way to prom. (I guess they were heading into SF for the prom?). Too cute, with their corsages, and ill fitting tuxes.
Coffee achieved! And pics resized.
OMG, I can't believe those folks are in EIGHTH GRADE. wow.
The girls are half little kids and half full grown women. None of the boys are quite so mature looking. Brittney is a cutie, but just like Brendon she does this wierd body freeze when the camera is pointed.
I didn't see the Brendon against the pole picture until I got home. I love that one. His shirt was huge because I ended up getting him an extra large to fit his long arms. His chest is 38, but his arms are longer than his dad's. I wasn't up to the challenge of finding the super slim and long shirt. The suit fit beautifully. Nice brand new Brooks Brothers 44 x-long for $41 on eBay! That was a find.
They did have fun once they were pushed to go into the actual dance. Brittney and a number of the class are off on the class trip to Orlando this weekend. Brendon couldn't go because his Math teacher wouldn't sign off on his behavior. Bitch! She only has to put up with him for 2 more weeks. I would have fought it, but he didn't really care about going to Orlando.
Back to work. I'm alternating office work, house work, play.
What day do you leave, Fay?
Wednesday morning, at some ungodly hour. 4 and a bit hours to Frankfurt, then 11 and a bit hours to San Francisco. And then, since I'm travelling back in time, it should still be Wednesday morning.
Hmmm, coffee. I think I need to get off my arse and make a pot.
Fourteen-year-olds are so confusing, sometimes looking/acting like kids and sometimes like total grown-ups. It makes me verklempt for when they were 10 and the best present ever was a trip to Magic Mountain, not a belly ring. Really cute pictures!
Happy Mother's Day, to all the American Buffista Mommies!!!
Laura, that is a very handsome son you have.
I am up way too late, and I should get moving. So tired.
