Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

What's the difference between Alima and Bare Minerals? I think I want to try a mineral foundation, but only Alima offers the neat sample size. I could try BM and just send it back if I don't like it, I suppose.

A lot of MMU lovers HATE BM, because the bismuth in it can be a skin irritant. I've only tried it at Sephora, but it runs both dark and yellow, which eliminated it from contention right off.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I've tried both Bare Minerals and Aromaleigh and they both make my skin itch.

Ann, that's a ferret.

But I know my life has hit a sorry point when I look at the chemo patients and am jealous of their ports. So wrong.

Very wrong. My mom has a port, and it's been a life-saver. Literally--she was on IV nutrition for a while there.

Hubs' mother had a port for chemo during the first round of cancer. She had clotting problems that almost killed her.

Luckily, the doctors figured it out in time (just) and got her on anti-clotting medication.

So I'm kind of skeptical of ports.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Thanks Epic and Calli. It is a good day when it only takes 3 attempts to get the IV started. My worst day took 5, or was it 6. And I know I have it easy compared to many others. Just having my own pity party here - don't mind me.

In other news - the headache is not gone, but it is not trying to bring me to my knees. At least not so far today.

But all that pales compared to the foaminess that is going to arrive in my fair city in just over a week.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I've only tried it at Sephora, but it runs both dark and yellow, which eliminated it from contention right off

It probably would for me as well considering our similarities in coloring. I may just order some Alima samples and see how that works out.

Suzi, you going to the doc today for your headache?

Fred Pete - my mom is still dealing with blood clots she got when she had her hemo-dialysis port.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Go Alima, choose Alima! Woman-owned and they give 5% of profits to charity. You can look good and do good at the same time!

What is even happening?

Does Sephora (or any chain) sell Alima? I hate ordering cosmetics I'm unfamiliar with, on the internet. I like to see stuff in person.
