Well, be careful. I can't emphasize enough how helpful vitamin E is in cases like this. I'm extremely fair-skinned so I'm experienced with sunburns. I had a second degree burn on my chest once. Huge blister. My grandma the nurse pricked a vitamin E caplet and applied the oil as close to the burn as she could get it. I managed to heal without a scar. Taking it orally is also helpful if you're afraid to get the vitamin E oil on you (it is awfully sticky). You can also just use a lotion that has lots of vitamin E in it.

Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I rarely burn out here - there is usually enough sun year round that my face and arms have color all year - I usually do burn once - on my sholders, or back , or chest, because I forget. Once it has happened I am better with the sun screen ( and hats) and the parts of me that don't get enough sun protection don't burn as easily. I was surpised today. I've only had 5 or 6 bad burns- meaning My skin was way to sensitve fo r even a sheet to touch - but I have never blistered. I do have some Burt's bee's coconut creme with vit E - that can go on my chest - but my face is just gonna have to deal with my normal lotions- anything to thick , or too scent , or just becuse today is Tuesday , will make my face break out.
Everyone must run, run, to the nearest movie theatre and go see Kinky Boots.
OMGWTF FUNNY and sweet and quirky and fun. Also phenomenal soundtrack and hot drag queens and did I mention GO SEE IT.
It does look fabulous. I'm doubting we'll get it in Cairo, but it's possible. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't cut teh gay out of V for Vendetta, so who knows...
Don't know whether it was the grasses or this other annoying hairy weed, but I've got itchy welts on my arms. I've slathered them with aloe gel. I'ma trying to look up what kind of weeds they were. The landscaper's bringing guys by on Sunday to whack things down.
In bed now. Didn't accomplish too much more except helping to get the word out about my brother's music. Now watching West Wing on the laptop before I go to sleep.
Spidra! I owe you links! Will try to email you some today. Mea culpa.
Also, big sympathy wrt the itchiness - yesterday I got eaten alive by mozzies and suchlike, and am all bitey now. Which is A Bad Thing.
ion, I think I'm going to call my iPod Rodney, because it's cute and stocky and has a huge memory and it does lots of clever stuff.
Hearting Fay.
Oh, and now I remember that I need to watch all of my stored-up SGAs from the Tivo so that I can switch over to my new, two-channel Tivo! Yay!
JZ, you around by any chance?
Hi Brenda. Brendon had a great time in Chicago last night. He had great pizza at some local joint. Then his travelling companion Sheila met a couple guys from some jazz club (Green Mill) in the elevator and they went to see the Dave Douglas Quintet there. She had some local friends that they met there. Brendon mostly hung at the door talking with the owner. They are at the airport again headed home now.
He'd like to go back again with me when it isn't whirlwind business. He didn't really have the time to coordinate meeting up with the localistas. Next time.
I have about 10 loads of laundry to do today.
My sister's birthday is tomorrow. Any ideas for a present? She's 56 and doesn't really do anything but work, complain, swim, and read romance novels. If she wants anything she buys it. Last year I bought her one of those flag & eagle decal things that covers her back window in her car. The year before I bought her pool exercise stuff. This year I'm stuck.
My sister's birthday is tomorrow.
Yay! My baby brother's birthday is tomorrow as well. I love calling him the baby, since he's like 6'4" and 300 pounds, or so. He's gonna be 25, I think. CRAZINESS!
Unfortunately, I have no birthday ideas. I'm sending Jay money towards an iPod and a mix CD of songs to add to the iPod when he gets it.
I slept like 13 hours last night, which is just insane. There were about three hours that I was up and down, 'cause Toto was sick, poor guy. But, still, that's an awful lot of sleep. I'm hoping I'll feel less nauseous today and get more done. Must get on that to-do list.
