Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Compassionately intolerant

Huh. Weird. I've only had Valium once, and it wasn't for a needle phobia (which I don't have) but to relax me while they stuck a camera wire into my vein at my pubic bone and navigated my circulatory system with it up to my shoulder, where they then injected dye through the wire.

And, because it didn't occur to me to NOT be self-reliant, I drove myself home from that. Shifting with my right arm immobilized was a pain. The nurse, after flipping out that I didn't have a driver, did tell me a good back route to Glendale from downtown LA, though.

I'd comment, but I've fainted dead away.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The cat likes to hide under the sheet as I'm tucking it in (flat or fitted) and the dog thinks he should lay on top of each new layer put on the bed. Very annoying.

Hee. When Lucy was a puppy she used to love playing peekaboo under the sheets as I flipped them up over the bed. She'd leap under and then hold very, very still until I flipped the sheet back up, and come bounding out.

I don't think I have the courage to corset up, erika. I don't have any place to wear one, anyhow.

don't you go to the grocery store?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Mine does this, too. I just ignore him and keep making the bed. I end up with a cat-lump, but he crawls out when he gets bored.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I will no longer drive myself to the ER because they won't give me the good drugs until they see my ride home, who cannot be a cab driver.

Not even if I promise not to take the pills in question until I get home.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That sounds SO cool. Did you get to watch on the monitor?

(I once saw my bladder scoped. Decidedly uncomfortable, but very very trippy to watch even without drugs.)

Mostly lurking...

Huh. At my hospital they'll let that person be a cab driver. They'll even take me out to the cab (probably to make sure that that's the way I'm gonna go).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

When I had my nerve block, they refused to let me have a cab pick me up, despite their assurances that it was a minor procedure with only local in my scalp.

I could have driven home, no problem.

When I had the second nerve block, combined with trigger point injects, I was looped the fuck up. But I still would have been able to call a cab.

I don't think it's especially loserish to have no one to be shuttling you around in the middle of the day. If I hadn't had actor and consultant friends in the neighbourhood, I'd have given myself an ulcer working out some way to not have other friends take any time off work for me.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

{{Aimee}} I hate when they take thigns away

Go Vw! and you all reminded me that I wanted to change the sheets on the bed this am and wash the balnkets. so I will start after this post

you have cute nephews, sj. Just think of them as travel oppertunities

Car troubles definitely ping me differently than any other kind of stress and it's difficult to explain

which is why after crash test results - reliability is the next. and moving the co- even just a little makes a difference. Matt's co used to be 3.5 miles from home. now he is 13, and it makes just enough difference that takeing the car in for service is way more difficult than it used to be. esp. with gas at 3.00 a gallon
