Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

See, that sounds nice, Robin. Actually, I think I'm going to go to the park first, then some actual shopping, then back to the park if necessary.

This is the one thing I dislike most about my current neighborhood -- it's easy to get to the park, but not the part I like the best! That part is by my old neighborhood, and could not be less convenient now.

Very cool research at Berkeley Labs

Getting Beneath the Surface Reveals a Breakthrough in Solar Cell Material [link]

Why it's cool

"If it works, the cost should be on the same order of magnitude as traffic lights," Walukiewicz says. "Maybe less." Solar cells so efficient and so relatively cheap could revolutionize the use of solar power not just in space but on Earth. [link]

A likely story....

News flash, the Buffistas are now influencing international relations. From CNN story: [link]

"It's not whether Iran likes carrots," he said. "Iran likes respect. Iran demands respect. If there is to be a solution in Iran, Iran has to be part of the solution. We don't expect others to cook for us something and then present it to us and then tell us, 'Eat it or else.' This is not the way Iranians do international business."

Punishingly Intricate

I just got a new Anthropologie catalog in the mail and it has the tagline "Beautiful Days" and yet, inside, amongst other bohoatrocities, is this:
