Also, sort of a surprise. If there were any question, wouldn't they have hauled out the genetic testing to be sure? I wonder what (or who) made them so positive as to the live girl's identity that they didn't question it at all.

In college, a sorority sister of mine was beaten so badly that she was in a coma for 8 weeks. At the time, the doctors were sure she'd been raped, too, because of the injury patterns, but they actually couldn't do a pelvic exam, use a rape kit etc., because of the extent of her injuries. I would assume that the same kind of thing happened here w/r/t checking dental records -- everyone seemed to think they knew who this was, so the doctors couldn't or wouldn't check because of the extraordinary injuries.

And with that, I definitely need to go to the TDS web site and lose my thoughts in some of the video snippets.

Wait--I thought TDS was repeats this week. It's new? AND I MISSED MY BELOVED JOHN HODGMAN? Oh the humanity.

The rerun listings for today said Howard Dean, dammit. I recorded anyway since sometimes those are wonky.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck, tommyrot! That's way more exciting than the market-research shampoo and conditioner I got in the mail yesterday.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Last night's TDS was definitely a rerun--it was the one from the day of W's immigration speech (Jon was joking about how they would be reporting on the speech in the next day's show, unless the speech announced that he was being deported).

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, it isn't even 1:00 yet and I want to go home.

I want to go, get into my jammies and go to bed.

I want to stay in bed for 3 days, sleeping and eating ice cream.

Who is with me?

Who is with me?

I'll skip the ice cream, and home only if it is air conditioned, but hell yeah.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a problem, here on my penultimate free weekday. I want to go to the park, but I also have dinner plans, and I'm afraid I can't really entertain myself out and about for six hours. Maybe if I dawdle a little bit more and then shower and then head out.
