Must remember to record TDS today.

So their daughter was in fact buried six weeks ago by another family, while the family of the living girl has believed for all that time that their daughter was dead.
My reaction is pretty much bon's -- wow. What strikes me is that the girls must (have) be(en) nearly unrecognizable due to injury for that to happen.
I just can't imagine discovering that your daughter has been dead for weeks.
Yeah, that story is horrifying.

Yeah, I think that must be the case. They did look a fair bit alike before, which I assume is where the whole fucked up mess started. But for this to go on for so long...wow.
Also, sort of a surprise. If there were any question, wouldn't they have hauled out the genetic testing to be sure? I wonder what (or who) made them so positive as to the live girl's identity that they didn't question it at all.
It's weird, hearing news reports like these, where all you get is the capsule, and the implications can roll around in your head for days. A couple days ago, my local public radio mentioned a car accident (I guess this was in the wee hours after Memorial Day) where a minivan rolled on the Lowell Connector, and the two adults in front were thrown from the car and killed, and the news guy says, unaffectedly, "bystanders were able to pull the two children from the back seat before the car burst into flames."
WTF! Trauma!
So I just got in a discussion with a coworker about an article she sent me, and the course of my argument made me sound like I'm defending child molesters. Ugh. Can I move to, you know, another planet?
I would not recommend throwing up in one's own mouth as the right way to wake up in the morning. Sigh. I'm not sure if this is a resurgence of the ick, or an entirely new ailment making itself known. Ah well, wasn't like I was a font of productivity at work this week anyway.

From listening to all the reporting, I think it must have been one of those almost unbelievable circumstances - injured badly enough that the mistake was made, but not so badly that anyone questioned the IDs that had been made. The cororner is taking responsibility for the mistake, but there doesn't seem to be any suggestion that there was negligence involved.
They've done dental records now, after she began to speak this week and the family realized something was wrong. I think that's what I can't get out of my head - I keep imagining what that must be like, the gradually dawning horror as it became apparent what was going on.
Oh, wow, brenda. That's intense.
Can I move to, you know, another planet?
Yes.
Ah well, wasn't like I was a font of productivity at work this week anyway.
The week is almost over! Today and then tomorrow! You can make it. We all can!
Oh my word, brenda. All those poor people.
Nutty, I had the same reaction to that accident on the Lowell connector.
