The Bible says that fisting is good: [link]
Note: I am not actually saying this is a good thing....
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
tommyrot, sometimes your posts skeeve me in an unhappy, way inappropriate way.
More than ita's?
So you're saying, my posts themselves (as apposed to the links) skeeve you? I mean, I've been assuming that if the links are skeeveworthy to someone, that they just won't click on them. Should such posts have more warning and/or be less explicit? or do you think they just cross the line?
I'm Spiderman.
Today, I finally found the courage within myself to put on a harness and climb up above the grid at the theater I work at most frequently. This is a huge thing. I'm mildly phobic about heights, and I have to confront that every time I climb up on the scaffold, or the extention ladder, to hang, circuit and focus lights at that theater. It's old hat in many ways, as I can climb up quickly, and work confidently, despite the fear, which is still there. Until today, I was never quite brave enough to actually climb above the grid. I could get half way through the transition, but then I would just freeze trying to figure out where to go or what to hold on to to pull myself up the rest of the way.
Today, we needed to strike some lights that had previously been hung above the grid, and I was the one in the air, so I just decided to do it. I had recently done some above-the-grid climbing at another theater, and I felt I was ready to make the attempt. I put on the body harness, climbed up the scaffold, and pulled myself above the grid to fetch the lights that needed to be fetched. It took about forty-five minutes and all of my concentration to retrieve the two lights and their cables.
The first words out of my mouth after I had finished and climbed down were, "Holy fucking shit, I lived."

It's the sexually explicit stuff that bugs me. I know it's not mailicious or anything.
Would a show advocating such openmindedness play these days?
Medium is doing well. And Supernatural didn't get cancelled.
I'm still trying to figure out what pings me about XF that was on the pulse of the nineties but seems to be out of step today.
I've been mainlining The West Wing DVDs (seasons 1-3) and I'm amazed at how relevant it all seems. You'd think at least some of the early season stuff would seem a little dated, but I haven't felt that at all.
aurelia, if you still have to deal with lame-o person who made you climb up and hang lights while they stayed on the ground and cut gels, you should refer them to my immediately previous post.
Yay, Sean! Good for you. Do you think it will be easier to do the next time?
