My lasting memory from the time I went through that stretch on a Monday afternoon in June a few years ago was the bumper-to-bumper stop-and-go traffic.
That's also my lasting memory of the last time I went to Gatlinburg.
Geez, Louise, it's pouring out there right now! Wind, monsooning rain, thunder, lighting--the whole shebang.
So this morning, my boss called me into her office and basically said 'you know that big moving and storage of books in preparation of the construction' project that I've told you not to worry about for a while? Well, we need to have it finished by the end of the day tomorrow. Also, we probably want to move your office by then too."
"And here's your crew of competent and efficient burly men who will accomplish it " ?
Or maybe "here's the three copy center guys who are really nice, but don't understand that the first three volumes of the California corporations code should be on the same shelf as the rest of the California corporations code".
My lasting memory from the time I went through that stretch on a Monday afternoon in June a few years ago was the bumper-to-bumper stop-and-go traffic. On the plus side, leaving that traffic behind made the drive up Hwy. 441 to Newfound Gap, the side trip to Clingman's Dome, and the drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway all the way to I-26 just that much better.
It totally depends on when you go through it--you're not going to see a lick of traffic from January to April. But it can get a little hectic, especially on the through-roads.
Perkins, that blows.
That is patently unfair, Perkins. BTW, the pink leather jacket I was looking at in Petaluma was marked down even more in Napa this weekend, so I got it.
I tried to pay my Amex bill with the bank account that has no money in it. Did I figure this out myself? Of course not. I found out by all of the insufficient funds I'vegotten dinged with since then. Sometimes I am just too stupid to live. Or have money, anyway.
Geez, Louise, it's pouring out there right now! Wind, monsooning rain, thunder, lighting--the whole shebang.
Wow, we got like five minutes of drizzle.
If you get the chance, could you send me the pictures from the weekend I was there?
I only have four on my camera. Did smonster take some? Anyway, I created a flickr set for them here.
Whoa, Perkins. That is totally of the suck.
