(better late than never, and I just got up anyhoo.)
It's still today, j. You're not late yet.
Sean, will you be around tomorrow night? I sent you and S. an evite to a little cookout that could include birthday cake if you were here...
Hi Kristin! I just saw your evite. S and I are in San Jose. Again. We don't come back until Tuesday, so as much as we'd REALLY love to come to your BBQ, and hang out and get cake, we won't be able to make it. But your invitation made us bopth smile.
Happy birthday, Sean!
I have many things I should be doing, but instead I think I'm going to let the last two eps of WW season 2 make me cry.
Happy Birthday Sean!
Why is it suddenly Summer in Illinois?
Sigh- I was enjoying our extended (and rare) Spring.
Weather report from Chicago: it is currently 912 degrees.
It's 10 degrees cooler in my apt than outside, so I'm quite comfortable.
I just bought an air conditioner, so quite soon it will be Comfortable degrees. Right now, it is somewhere between Hot As Fuck and Ninth Circle of Hell. And HUMID.
Jessical, hope you cool down soon.

So, I have all these papers about pi from seniors that need a grade before Tuesday. And I have no idea what basis to use to grade them. I cannot give in to the temptation to just give them all A's just because it's the very last piece of work they handed to me. But I also can't grade them on what I would have previously thought would be grading-paper grounds, because that many D's would just upset me. Argh.
In a VERY summery development, the BF just called me from OSH, where he bought a free-standing swing, kinda like this [link]
We saw it when we were in there yesterday renting the carpet shampooer thingie. We sat in it as kind of a joke, since it looked like something that would be in an actual big fancy yard instead of our little patch of concrete and potted plants, but then we just sat in it swinging and smiling for about 10 minutes. It was so relaxing and cozy and it has a built in canopy for the killer sun we have most days. Best of all, it was on sale for $99 and he found a 10% off coupon while I was out, so there he was calling me and saying "I'm here, should I get it?" and of course I said "Go for it."
