Isn't it a WW surrender thingy.
That happened so long ago! Most of the people bitching weren't alive then!
I need to know more WWII history. My previous understanding was that France was still suffering the aftereffects of WWI on their potential soldier base, and that made them weak. But I have no clear idea of the other countries that Hitler plowed through.
Okay. Going home.
I just got a $500 bonus for no apparent reason.
Or, say, to do with your review?
I got informed of my annual raise. It will just about offset the deductions I've instated for my 401K, which is cool. I'd hate to have to actually change my lifestyle.
Holy butt. I just got a $500 bonus for no apparent reason. Sweet!
Well what do you know? Our new experimental A.I. unit just uttered its first words: "Allyson's awesome!"
Someone give that girl a bonus!
Or, say, to do with your review?
Nope. It appears to have been put in awhile ago by my great grandboss in sympathy for the fact that two of my supervisors were out sick for three months leaving the secretaries in my group to make executive decisions on our own. We all got one.
Holy butt. I just got a $500 bonus for no apparent reason. Sweet!
Excellent! Go buy yourself some flowers and an expensive item of makeup!
Buy me a cupcake!
Okay, maybe spend it on yourself.
But a bonus and a book cheque and a good review--I hope these keep you warm and fuzzy in your writing week.
The weird thing is that nothing about my job changed. I'm far away from the rest of the lab (read, up the hill) so no one ever is around to help me out, anyway.

Me too (or nineteen). I have cleverly hidden my LJ under the dashedly clever nom de plume "spidra".
I think hating the French is part of our (the nation's, I mean) British heritage. They make it seem like so much fun!
And there's the Jerry Lewis thing, too. Oo, and mimes.
Yay on bonuses & raises and suchlike.
I'm so tired I want to die. We had a meeting at 3:30 this afternoon. Bastards. And then I had to bring work home for the weekend, although that's really my own fault for being such an incredible slacker. I would have gone to bed when I got home, except then I'd have woken up at 4 AM.
