The Cantankerous Cardinal is back. He's not just attacking the windows, he's scolding madly.

I got an email from an old high school friend I haven't seen in 14 years. Her first question: "Are you still single and childless?"

Allyson, sorry the Lost party didn't go as well as it could have. Best laid plans and all that. I know you and Maya worked your butts off for it.
Yay for the plug for your book, though!
I hate feeling like a raging bitch at the dentist, but when I'm in pain or discomfort when I leave, the office girl tries to cheer me up and seems upset that I'm not happy when I leave. My jaw hurts so bad due to TMJ that I have difficulting opening my mouth. I'm civil, just not friendly.
edit:
Her first question: "Are you still single and childless?"
WTF? Can you email her back asking if she's still tactless and stupid?
Her first question: "Are you still single and childless?"
I'm living in LA and about to have my first book published.

The hell? After a dental procedure about all that should be expected of a patient is non-homicidal. And if the patient doesn't quite achieve that? Well, the legal defense is built right in.
Her first question: "Are you still single and childless?"
I am about to have my book published, have friends all over the world and many of them right near where I live, and have a great hair.
[Edit: x-post with msbelle, sort of. In spirit, anyway]
What Calli said, Cash. I hate people trying to cheer me up in any circumstances, anyway, but leaving the dentist in pain? @@
Allyson, WTFF?
I think the "you rude bitch" is implied.
Nilly, I am honored to be in spirit with you.
It's a weird question, right? I think I don't get the point.
I got my first check for the book, BTW. I forgot to bring it to work, I wanted to make a nice copy of it for framing.
