Corwood, it was your birthday? Happy - no, wait, too late, right? A very pleasant unbirthday to you!

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Excuse me if this has been posted already. I did a lot of skimming this week. [link]

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

"Anyway"-ed by Jesse. I feel so dismissed.

Corwood ... I am sure we would not begrudge you a happy birthday, if you absolutely insisted on it.

[x-post with Bitches]

I know everyone is off F2Fing, but for those of us who are feeling down because we didn't get to go, let me lift your spirits with pictures of a really cute baby eating cake .

The birthday party went well. Our house is filled with boxes at the moment and the movers come on Monday to take it all away. We will be living on frozen pizza and air mattresses until the 31st when we fly away. Sorry I haven't been around much, but as you can see, life has been just short of way-too-busy. Hope everyone is loving SF!

Stephanie, she's so adorable!

My mom made sure to have pictures of all of us having some food or other all over ourselves, she loves that kind of pictures so. Maybe it's genetic, but I loved the cake pictures!

I had no idea that you're moving, skipper that I am. Good luck with that, and wishes for all the best in the new place!

(Also, isn't Ellie's birthday in a couple of weeks or so? IIRC, she was born early June, but, of course, I may very well not RC.)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Once I shower and dress I will go out shopping for a dress(or two) for the weddings I'm attending this summer. Both are Sunday evening, one says "black-tie optional", the other says nothing about attire. I'm not looking forward to shopping.

Nilly, you are correct - Ellie's birthday is June 4th. We are moving to Puerto Rico on May 31st and next weekend is a holiday here so we decided to celebrate early.

Now tagless for your comfort.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Wow, Stephanie, Puerto Rico? I've definitely been out of the loop! (I hear nice things about living there, which combines "foreign and exotic" with enough of the familiar (money, products/stores) to be flat-out pleasing. I hope you can join us more after the move so we can hear about your adventures.

(And now I want the next F2F in PR!)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Photos of an aircraft carrier being sunk: [link] Kinda' cool....

Oriskany is schedule to be scuttled 22 miles south of Pensacola in approximately 212 feet of water in the Gulf of Mexico, where it will become the largest ship ever intentionally sunk as an artificial reef. Known as the "Big O," the 32,000-ton, 888-foot aircraft carrier was built at the Brooklyn Naval Shipyard and delivered to the Navy in 1950 and was in action during conflicts in Korea and Vietnam.

A couple years ago the America, a much larger carrier, was also scuttled. Newer environmental regulations make it too costly to scrap old US Navy warships. I'm not sure how sinking them is better.

I think the Enterprise is due to be retired in about four years. Since the Enterprise is nuclear powered, I don't think sinking her is an option....
