Oh, yeah. There was this time I was pinned down by this guy that played left tackle for varsity... Well, at least he used to before he was a vampire... Anyway, he had this really, really thick neck, and all I had was a little, little Exact-O knife ... You're not loving this story.

How much mercury is in the water down there, Gud? Them folks are just wacko nut jobs.

No kidding. Missouri seems to be trying to out-nut Kansas lately.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Congratulations jengod!

Happy Birthday Vortex!

My first real world meeting of people I knew online would have been people from rec.music.gdead providing crash space during a run at Cal Expo. Looking back, that was fairly insane, but I did go in the company of a couple of guys I knew from college. It was more insane for them - opening up their homes to people they'd never met. It was a great time, though, and I ended up seeing a lot of shows with them. I'm not really in touch with that crowd anymore, alas. Before that the people I talked to on BBSes were people I knew in meatspace first.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Word is insisting that every style I have is called "Page Number". It's sort of Rain Main-esque.

Thomas Friedman hoist with his own repetitiousness. Kinda depressing too, because Iraq related.

Friedman sounds like every official in the Bush Adminstration, we're always about to turn the corner in Iraq.

Yup. And he's counted as part of the "liberal" spectrum on the NY Times op-ed page. To be fair they do have Krugman and Herbert who are legtiimately liberal. But old "Airmiles" to my mind has long since forfeited his claim to that part of the spectrum.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I forwent frozen for buffet Thai. I think it was a good call. Tomorrow more frozen.

Neosporin is being weird with me. I have a couple scratches on my face and neck that I've been keeping treated with the stuff, and they're starting to look weird. Maybe I should hold off for a second.

I am wondering at the [bomb threat...many minutes later] naming convention. When you say upper lip, do you mean the kissy bit, the moustache bit, or both?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The moustache bit. The place between top-lip (let's say) and nose.
