I thought the chicken masala was okay. I have the vindaloo in the freezer but I haven't attempted it yet.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The TJ's frozen ethnic meals I've tried have been tasty, but very very watery.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

new federal guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ask "all females capable of conceiving a baby to treat themselves -- and to be treated by the health care system -- as pre-pregnant, regardless of whether they plan to get pregnant anytime soon."

There are so many things wrong with the CDC's "advice," I don't know where to start. It assumes I'm having sex (should I be flattered that the CDC thinks I'm getting some?), and that the sex is unprotected sex (but wait! I should be angry that the CDC thinks I'm a dumbass), and that I wouldn't have an abortion were I to become pregnant unexpectedly.

Actually, it scares me, because it sounds like it's laying the groundwork for how women will be expected to behave when abortion and birth control are yanked out from under us.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

I'm calling a Good News alert.

My officemates (all but one) missed the train on my birthday last week. They remembered yesterday, and my supervisor brought me a cake today. It is to. die. for.

I'd give you some Allyson, but it probably wouldn't travel well.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

GA: Do we KNOW that Izzy is leaving? Or are we basing that on what she said about quitting?

The Bear thing: one of the guys I work for was at the Bronx Zoo this weekend when a wild duck foolishly landed in the tiger enclosure. He said it was just like watching his house cat with a song bird, same sort of toying with it, etc. and that everyone pretty much stood there transfixed.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I disliked both of those because the sauce seemed almost curdled when it was reheated, and no amount of stirring could reconstitute them.

That didn't happen with mine.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's possible that the microwaves I'm using are into nuclear armament territory. But they're the only ones I use, so I have to work around them. The bowls are all just fine, so I'm going to stick with those.

Wait, yours wasn't a bowl? Maybe I'm talking about something else then? The way my mind is right now, it's entirely possible.

The green curry and the masala were in a multi-section (I seem to recall) thingummy in a box. The stuff that worked well for me was sold in a bowl with a film over top, no box. Though I did have pesto tortellini today that was in a bowl in a box. It was okay.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good news: I heard back from the awesome interview place from last week about the next step in the hiring-me (god willing) process. Also, while I don't think I actually want to work at the place I had the informational interview today, it was great to see old friends. Well, one friend and one former co-worker. But still great!
