Pretty cool except for the part where I was really terrified and now my knees are all dizzy.

Mine usually does too. Hairdresser did a slightly different cut (what kind of different? Beats me. I let her decide) and it seems less likely to fall victim to the flathead or smash'n'crimp.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I have really short hair, so it just sticks up all over the place when I wake up. My niece calls it my "cwazy hair."

Our wings are not tired.

The family all jumped in the pool during the basketball half-time show. The hair was still damp when I went to sleep. The bedhead this morning was most interesting.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

My current haircut does not look better with bedhead. But fortunately, it doesn't look bad with it, 'cause I am really, really lazy. I had a new girl this time, because my regular girl wasn't available on the short notice I gave. But I really had to have it cut before the summer so I went ahead. I think she did a good job, but she was less precise with the razor, and although she stuck to the cut more (she had the pictures) she was less skilled, so the things my regular girl does to make the cut work for me didn't happen.

About the Derby, it really was a lovely race. Everything went smoothly, and it is just so beautiful to watch that calibre of horses run. And I'm happy because my (almost completely random) pick came in second, so i got to pretend that I knew because of my expert analysis of a few minutes of pre-race footage. Hee. So much fun. I love the Derby. I remember watching it with my dad all through my childhood, so I feel connected to that when I watch.

Also? I totally and completely need a Kentucky Derby style hat. To wear with my cargo camo's and Docs. Or maybe just around the house. Need, I tell you.

Kentucky Derby style hat

Is this a particular hat, or the general over-the-top, foofy, big-race hats? The only thing that has had me paying any attention to Preakness coverage is the incredible hats.

I just mean big-race hats. I love them!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I bought a bag full of organizey things and now I am off to buy a new TV and a new A/C. I did my research, know what I plan to buy and even compared prices between 2 stores online.

Hopefully getting a delivery will not be a problem.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Go you with the organizey, msbelle! That's a good feeling when you can go in knowing you're getting the best product for the best price.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, while I'm working (working!) on my paper, I have What Not To Wear on, and it's Tanya from New Orleans with the weird accent, and I noticed the key thing! Her boyfriend tells her he's making a videotape to send to her family in South Africa. That also explains why her sister is Brig. Phew!

My dad just figured out how to send pictures he's taken with his cellphone. Pardon me while I laugh and laugh. (Earlier on the phone he was bitching about how he didn't need a phone that takes pictures, but he had no choice because his old one died and this was the replacement and WHAT WAS THE POINT etc.)
