Jesse, did you mean that you pay half of what your neighbors pay, or are you hoping to get their apartment and rent?
I meant that their rent is half of mine, because if your apartment is rent-stabilized, they can only raise it a small amount every year you stay in it. Thus, if I stay here 10 years, it will be super cheap eventually. I'm hoping they came up with the money, really, since they seem nice and I don't want to deal with construction next door.
Ah. So you're really never going to move.
Moving is hell. Rent stabilization is like going to confession, you get to keep your soul. And you need fewer boxes.
So, I'll probably move next year anyway, but I know it's stupid.

Nope. I've only ever lived on the East Coast.
