So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

YAY, Mr. Kitty!!! Eat, mo-fo, eat!

Damn it. LJ is down again. And I was about to make a pithy comment in response to something, too.

Bastards.

By the time it comes back up, I'll have over thought it and it will just come out LAME.

Yes.

I'm aware.

First world problem.

And an especially silly one at that.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yay, Mister Kitty!!!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

LJ is up and down like crazy, every few minutes.

Ooo! While I'm being cranky about my first world problems... here are some more!

I haven't had the time to thoroughly clean my laptop bag since the Great Breastmilk Explosion of '06, where the damn thing got soaked (sans laptop, thankfully), and the bag I'm borrowing isn't as swell for carrying on the bus.

It's exactly the wrong temp outside for all my clothing. Too hot or too cold, depending on time of day.

And last, but not least, everyone and his dog has something going on the 13th (one of my best friends is moving, one of my oldest friends is having a leaving-the-state party, and I'm sure I'm missing something), and I'm contractually obliged to go to my nephew's tenth birthday party.

Those things are all crank-worthy, Plei.

Here's a question: If I tell a haircutter I want something less severe than the bob I currently have, but not much shorter, will that be enough for them to work with? I don't really know what I want, and can never tell what the actual cut looks like on haircut sites because they're so styled.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

This would have been posted in my LJ, if LJ wasn't broken.

Imagine a pretty picture of Bettie Page next to the entry.

Last night i got a call from Maya. Only 60 attendees for DLA. Those 60 are gonna have a rockin' time since JJ and most of the cast will be in attendance. I offered a bit more of a hand to get more bodies there, since I don't want the charity to suffer. That would make me sad. I just cant do all I could do, since I have to write and not go insane.

But on to my day!

First thing this morning I got a reply back from Sarah Bunting of Tomato Nation fame (Roomba!) agreed to take a look at a few essays and blurb for me. I suppose unless I suck HARDCORE. In which case, I'll forgive her if she says, "Sorry Allyson, I didn't think it was gonna suck THIS hard. I mean, I can't even give you a pity blurb. Have you considered a job in public works?"

Then I went to a meeting at lunch with a friend from work, and was subtely asked to consider joining the board of directors for a charity that helps poor kids get into the arts, staging plays, painting, all sorts of cool stuff.

Got back to work, and was asked if I'd like to be the Conference Secretary for a huge physics conference in Virginia with a bunch o' nobel prize winners and NASA scientists. It's for four days in a pretty hotel.

I can't do either of those things, because I have to write. Both are pretty big deals, the first because, hello, being on the board of a charity is a prestigious thing. The second because secretaries almost never get travel opportunities. Let alone to run the desk at a high profile international conference.

Weirdly, I still feel like a lazy, incompetent, talentless slob. Weird how the brain doesn't give a crap about reality, isn't it?
