Woohoo! Second thread I've had a hand in naming.
High-fives TomW in absentia.
So, 24. I realized tonight that Jack's off-the-cuff planning skills aren't a whole lot different than John Crichton's. The only difference is that Jack can't do quite so much collateral damage given the lack of sooper-Sci-Fi weaponry. Allowing for technological differences, I think Jack may have Crichton beat.
London's most expensive sandwich:
London's most expensive sandwich went on sale at Selfridges today and at £85 and 2,000 Calories it promised to lighten pockets and expand waistlines.
The McDonald Sandwich is the brainchild of Selfridges chef Scott McDonald, who said the idea came to him while taking the train home three weeks ago.
He said: "I wanted to say 'If money was no object, what would you put in a sandwich?'.
"It wasn't just a case of using the most expensive produce, the flavours are exceptional, they marry really well.
"You get absolutely amazing taste from every level as opposed to a taste explosion."
The main expense of the sandwich is the Wagyu beef, which is flown in fresh from Japan, and comes from cows that were massaged and fed on beer.
Other ingredients include fresh lobe frois gras and black truffle mayonnaise.
Mr McDonald added: "Tasting it you would probably think 'Bloody hell, that's rich'."
I did not
like Jack tonight. Most of the time I can sympathize with his Big Angsty Conflict over all the collateral damage he causes -- tonight, he deliberately send 10 LA cops to their deaths without a second thought. Not to mention Evelyn and her daughter, who I have no reason to believe survived Henderson's visit. I'm disappointed, frankly.
Jessica - weird, the first point didn't even ping me until you said it that way. I guess I'm just too used to TV/movies where
the run-of-the-mill cops get used for cannon fodder.
The second one REALLY bugged me and if
Henderson let them live, I'm going to be even more eye-roll-y. Even if he has them in his vehicle as hostages, it makes no sense. MAYBE I could buy them as insurance if the president tries to leave him out to dry, but I still might go blind. But otherwise, why make us wait to find out if they are really dead?
eta Woot! Numerically eponymous post!
I guess I'm just too used to TV/movies where
What pinged me is that
they were NOT just standard action-movie cannon fodder. They weren't redshirts doing a job, Jack called them there with the express purpose of letting them be machine-gunned down while he escaped. Even if he was secretly hoping that they'd kill Henderson's guys first, that's a really shitty thing to do, even in the name of National Security.
Top fifty. Not bad for someone who's never around Natter any more.
Damn, I was hoping to get my age as a post number. Well, this one is what I will be!
Everwood:
Awww! Ephram's growing up. Good ending
.
So who has something good and unMondayish to tell us?
