Calling a stranger something stupid is entirely different from referring to a co-worker as "the little gal." I have heard people in the 21st century refer to their assistant as "my girl" or whatever, and it's appalling.
I was really irritated a while back when a 20 something male bartender said "what can I get you, sweetheart"? ugh. or is that just me.
I call children "sweetie" all the time and have no objection to seeing it used as a friendly appellation among people who know one another well. But part of it is the older man/younger woman dynamic and my bristling at anything that smacks of unasked-for, gratingly jocular fake-paternalistic attitude and the implied condescention that goes along with it, *especially* when it's used at work place. It just makes me see red.
I don't wear any scent because I'm lazy and don't care that much
This is me. I have some rosewater that I might splash on if I think of it, but I hardly ever think of it.
So, if one had a lot of pictures to submit to Venus, should one perhaps put a zip file up somewhere and submit the location for download to Venus?
::happy sigh::
So now there's a baby shower happening for one of the managers here and people are stopping by to ask me when I'm going over. Dudes, I chipped in. I have to be social with you now? Grumble, grumble, enforced cheeriness with work people, blah.
I can't wear "real" perfumes due to scent sensitivity, but I'm a fan of body sprays (when I'm not too lazy). My favoritest was Victoria Secret's apple scent, but lo, it has been discontinued, as has the Country Apple at B&BW. Current staple is Love Spell from VS. I like to put it in my hair, because I think the scent lasts longer that way.

yes, this
I wear a perfume by Jo Malone that's Lime, Basil and Mandarin scented. I just like it. Sometimes I forget to put it on, but I don't worry about it like if I forgot to put lotion on my feet or someting.
I prefer Organza, from Givenchy. But I've been too lazy to wear it since last fall.
Claudia Black should be on Venus!
The only scent I use is Lush's Flying Fox temple balm. The combination of jasmine and ylang-ylang is heavenly.
I don't wear scented anything because I work in a scent-free workplace. (As are most places in Halifax.)
Wow, really?
Most places might be an exaggeration, but all gov't buildings, hospitals, schools, universities. There's also a pesticide ban. There was a big environmental illness problem at a hospital in the 1980's, and it left a legacy of environmental sensitivity awareness.

Amusing note - San Francisco apparently has some very strict codes about how much scent a stripper can put on (maybe some councilmen got tired of being caught by their wives?). Now, the dancers can only put the scent in their hair, which has led to EVEN MORE hair-tossing.
Do you know how many times a day I think "Only in California" to myself? Many.
