So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

PMM could consult. Her judgement has worked for me.

I have a nice collection of Wet Gillian Anderson pictures that I could send in... then there's the Asia Argento folder.

Strega, the people she was discussing it with did. So that's why she made the distinction. As for the paid/not paid line, it was similarly responding in context to people slamming fanfic (as in working in someone else's world) for being not real and uncreative. So she was citing instances in which we already accepted something 'derivative' as worthy in its own right.

Yeah, it's about the fifth go-round of the argument this year.

Doesn't Mr. All Fanfic is Evil and Blows write crappy tie-in novels or something? I get my Fandom Wanks confused when they pile up.

sarameg, many kitty get well wishes. Poor Mister Kitty.

Gronk. Coffee has started tasting like water again. Guess that giving up on cutting down wound up leading to increased consumption. Or I've just been tired this week and in need of the extra boost.

Go Isaac, it's your birthday!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, Isaac!

Cindy, he feels like a one year old to me, on account of Burrell being my due date almost-twin last year.

Lee Goldberg. And yes, yes he does. He writes tie-in novels for Monk.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Lee Goldberg? The weather man? [link]

No, Lee Goldberg, the guy who writes Monk tie-in novels and despises fanfic.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And the root of all that discussion was some really bright chick who's selling her Star Trek fanfic on Amazon. Printed and bound. So I have to disagree with Mr. Ellis--getting paid for it doesn't make it not fanfic. What she's doing is still fanfic, as well as moronic.

It was Star Wars, actually, which makes it even worse, since Lucas has been far more involved with controlling fan production and coming down hard on offenders.

D'oh. Another Hope, or something, right?

I am still a bit freaked out by the nose breaking thing last night. I hope it turned out to be just really quick and unilateral swelling.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Fuck. Veronica Mars was on last night, wasn't it? My DVR didn't tape it for the second week in a row. I think I have it set to only tape it Wednesday to avoid taping it Sundays, maybe. Dammit!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Maybe some people are just more breakable than others.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

It didn't air in NY last night, bon bon.

Saturday at 7:00pm.
