The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What do you mean "they cut the power"? How could they cut the power, man? They're animals!

Chewing on the wires. (Despite what Tommy said, the NOT!cats are vicious, but none too bright.)

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Hot detective = awesome. Cops I've interacted with have been more on the Sipowicz side of things.

Oh, my. Hott detective is more like Benjamin Bratt. Seriously. Not a bad way to start the day.

ChiKat, I'd recommend you get it on with the detective.

Oh, I would not mind that one little bit. He is Teh Yum.

(eta: the fact that she's wearing an ankle monitor makes me unreasonably happy)

Me, too! The thing that doesn't make me happy was the attitude she was throwing around. It was bad enough that they held me in the courthouse until she left the building. They didn't want her to realize I am the real me.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They didn't want her to realize I am the real me.

But how can the realness of you be contained or obscured? Silly people.

I'd settle for Benjamin Bratt.

MS Project is being pissy.

No power loss out in Riverwoods, tommyrot.

When the power would go out occasionally at the old Oak Park library when I worked there, we would say, "Who wants some fried squirrel for dinner?" They loved to chew on the wires.

the NOT!cats are vicious, but none too bright.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Today. Not good. Want to skip ahead.

Truly. I cannot be concealed!! There was a kind of funny moment. As much cognitive dissonance as I had looking at her/my driver's license, the state's attorney had similar dissonance when I walked into the room. Everything she had been looking at with my name had a picture of an African American woman, so she was expecting an African American woman. I am a woman, but pale and blonde. Threw her a little bit.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

We had a squirrel suicide take out all the power on my college campus once. (I'm assuming it was suicide, but he may have been pushed.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

We had a squirrel suicide take out all the power on my college campus once.

Oh, yeah, that happened in our townome complex once as well.

Poor squirrel. He must have been really startled for about a second.
