"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Emily, did anyone at the career fair ask to see your portfolio?

No, but keep in mind I really didn't talk to that many people. The LA guy I actually interviewed with asked for anything I had, but didn't seem to care that I only had a resume. Looking at the resume stacks, I think people did bring sample lesson plans and that sort of thing, but not me.

I ask because I have a deep and abiding loathing for working on mine as I feel it is a big ass waste of my time.

You too? Is there anyone who really digs doing this thing and thinks it'll be very useful? I suppose the real problem is that you have to shoehorn it in around student teaching, when you don't really have any time to spare.

So I've got a Works Cited question. I want to reference a video I saw but don't own. APA style says give the producer and director. Amazon doesn't have it. PBS does, but doesn't list either of those people. How do I find out the information?

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

I don't like how the ice cream choices in the Food Sign thing fail to reciprocate.

I'm beginning to suspect that the science behind ice-cream personality matching is not as well-founded as we have been led to believe.

Jessica cites one example.

There are also major gaps in the ice-cream record. Are we really to believe that there are no flavours with fudge brownies or cookies? Oh, and don't get me started on the lack of transitional flavours between "Strawberry" and "Strawberries and Cream".

Oh, and what about sorbet? What about it? If science can't explain my personality based on the fact that I happen to like a blackberry lime sorbet, then what good is it?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Try IMDB, Emily -- they usually have full crew listings.

1. If you know the company that put it out, look it up in the company's website catalog.

2. Go to a public library database (big library, Boston or NYPL or a major network) and look up the video's record. It will have all the data you can shake a stick at, and more you can't.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Is there anyone who really digs doing this thing and thinks it'll be very useful?

I say no. Really, I completely grok lesson plans and unit plans and a philosophy. But the other 300-plus pages that my school requires? NSM.

Thanks for the link, tommyrot. I may have a new tagline.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Thanks for the link, tommyrot. I may have a new tagline.

Yeah, I just changed my tagline an hour or so ago, otherwise I would have grabbed something from that article....

eta: Yep, that was line I especially liked....

Alas, IMDB had nothing. It's actually here: [link] so if anyone's feeling bored and thinks they can suss something out from it, feel free. I'm going with the name of the guy who was leading the workshop and the production company I found at the bottom. I guess all I'm really missing is NOTHING.

ETA: All questions answered. All hail Nutty.

Wow, BPL does have all kinds of info! Of course, the info they have seems to contradict the other place, but what the heck!
