You think you have stress, Perkins? I have a whole hour to fill before I can leave.
EAT IT!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

EAT IT!
Me, too (another hour before I can leave).
Much less stress today, though, since I just found out that to be able to afford my move to my new apartment, I only have to borrow $150 from Dad instead of $1000 (involves some serious number shuffling, but it works!), and that's only until I get my security deposit back from the current place by middle of June. Yay! 'Cause I really hate to hit Dad up for cash, especially after he gave me some for my b-day present just a few weeks ago.
Oy. So my bit this morning about my left side being all messed up and my right side being fine? I should have kept my mouth shut. Coming back from lunch, I cut my right calf with my car door when I went to close it.
Ouch! How deep is the cut, and do you have some ointment and bandages to wrap it up?
Not very deep. It was bleeding pretty good, but I washed my leg off in the bathroom and borrowed a band-aid from a co-worker. I'll hit it up some bactine or peroxide and a fresh band-aid when I get home.
Eek! Yes, disinfect, Kalshane.
'suela, I had a lot of fun and the audience seemed to be having fun, too. Congrats on getting to see The Glass Menagerie at the Rep. I'm not much of a straight theater person but I have to say I'd love to see Moreno do a role like that. And it got a good review in the Chron.
Pictures of last night's gig: [link]
I wish I'd been able to get someone to video the gig. It's not only useful to me in being able to critique my performance, but I'd really like to see what Tony was doing (I was positioned in front of him a bit). Folks last night told me it looked like he was really enjoying himself and that was the best compliment I could have gotten. He's a splendid musician and a standup guy and I feel so honored that he worked with me. The idea that he actually enjoyed doing it gives me a glow.
Shrift! Happy day of getting outta there! Sounds like you're doing everything right. Like an idiot, I found out there were some personal emails I didn't forward. After reading of a documentary by Grace Lee, I got the inspiration to email 2 of the people I know of on the internet with my name. One, a well-known fiddler, responded to me and I left her email on my damned work machine...
All week, no lemon bars in the caf. Today, not even any brownies.
Plus an arseload of rain. Today is no fair.
Who here telecommutes? Ever, or occasionally, or regularly? Is anyone living the dream?
In my group, we have all the pieces--I can take my laptop home and connect via broadband (which they even used to pay for) to the company network just as if I were here, but slower. Or I can connect to my laptop from home, and remotely use its applications.
Yet-no. No telecommuting without a reason, like illness/injury, or some sort of appointment. My managers have been very good about allowing us to do so with a valid excuse, but still. The idea that I could stay home and wrangle five conference calls and update documentation once a week--no go. Much of what I have to do can be face to face, but when you consider how many facilities we have in how many states, remote meetings aren't unheard of, by a long shot.
Yet, outside Polgara or people who work from a home office primarily, I just never encounter folks even in IT who get to take advantage of the technology.
Also, I want chocolate.
We have folks here who work from home occaisionally. There was a time where people at our corporate office were doing it constantly, but then folks outside the department started complaining they could never locate people (mostly because said people preferred to walk into the IT department and do the potty dance at their desk until the IT person noticed them instead of picking up the phone) and the rules got changed to require a certain amount of rigamorole in order to do it.
It's never been an option for me. It's rather difficult to do hardware support remotely. I suppose I could do it now that I'm on the help desk, but I only live 5 minutes from work and it just doesn't seem worth the hassle and it'd be hard to justify.
ita, I'm sure I shared my trauma when I saw two girls wearing those velour tube dresses over jeans.
Ooh. I get to leave.... 50 minutes early....
I think there will be napping....
