We get sent home every year at 2 pm, but no one ever tells us until 2 pm, when they send out an email saying "If your work is finished, the Dean says you can go home."
Each year, though, there is a chance that no one will send us home!

Not when I've been around.
Not terribly personal. My time in NOLA included the '83 governor's race, in which the main candidates were Edwin Edwards and David Treen. Edwards was a Democratic ex-governor (kept out of the last election by a term limits law), immensely charming and equally immensely sleazy. Treen was the Republican governor, the first one in the state since Reconstruction.
Treen's slogan was, "An Honest Governor. For A Change." Nobody was fooled by the period in the middle of the sentence. Everybody agreed that Treen was honest, and that Edwards was not.
And Edwards won the election with over 60% of the vote.
tommyrot, my dh does. The Stock Market is closed.
LAST DAY.
A Good Friday to you, huh?
I'm on a five-day weekend, AIFG.
I just found out our second biggest client has the day off, so that may or may not limit how much work I can do today....
Odds are, I'll be here until 5:00.
I hope I get to leave early. I've already had a meeting and supposedly I am to interview someone today. It is too busy for a Friday and a holiday Friday at that.
Happy Freedom Day shrift. Feel free to yell EAT IT! at random times throughout the day at no one and everyone.
A Good Friday to you, huh?
Shrift is having Best Friday.
Monkey Bread. I want some right now.
A Good Friday, indeed, for shrift. I think I am one of the only people in the office today. But I was out Monday, Tuesday and half of Wednesday, so I guess I can't complain. And next week, schools are closed for spring break. Hurrah!
No holiday. And I just realized all of my errands need to be done tomorrow because this place shuts down hard on Easter. Or at least Target and the grocery store do. I forgot that last year. I think it was easter, anyway.
Hi, I'm Sara and I really don't pay attention to holidays unless it means I don't have to work.
So who (besides brenda) gets half or all the day off today as a holiday?
Everyone in the UK, which is making my job VERY DIFFICULT.
