You should ask them.

I know. It is just so scary and I am so old and NY is so expensive. I have had several designers willing to fly me down for film shoots, etc, if I had the time. But sometimes, when I think of myself, I think of the "parable of the talents" (Matthew). I mean, I am not religious, and I know talents refered to money, but I get scared that I am wasting my "talents" that God has given me, you know. I mean, I don't mean to think above myself, but I do really get costumes, you know. I just don't know if I have the mental energy to use my talents as a profession, or if I should use them as an avocation.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want dessert. Despite having had a decadent chocolate cupcake (tangible payoff for hanging around chatting this afternoon), I still want dessert. I want something hot and sweet. Like apple rhubarb crumble.

This is pretty useless.

Why can't I have cravings with more likely payoffs?

Heist totally blew up one of the emo kids from North Shore. I like the pilot. I'ma stick around.

Sophia, stop thinking of yourself as old. Prefer instead to think of yourself as valuable.

Imagine calling me Bluebelle. You see my problem?

Yeah. The shit-scaring thing would be much harder then.

TWW: Poor Donna. Next campaign, she should make someone else be the Bearer of Bad News to Josh.

good advice form ita... In theatre yearsm 32 seems impossable for starting out. but this is not necessarily true, as my boss at the opera got tapped to be the costume supervisor for General Hospital at 42 (and she won an emmy!)

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Dougray Scott's accent in Heist is really cool. Surely wouldn't peg him as a foreigner.

You wouldn't? I've never heard him speak his natural accent, and yet I said to myself, Self, this guy is as Scottish a Scotsman as ever failed to wear underwear on a blowy day. His vowels wandered from Edinburgh to the Hebrides, with occasional detours to stereotypical Brooklynese.

I didn't read the Strega Nona books when I was little, either. But I did grow up under the vague impression that "strega" was Italian for "grandma."

Woof. Where did my weekend go? Baseball, bicycle fenders, and fanfic.

Okay, there have been worse weekends.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Does she have a staff there? I'm just saying. You already have Connections!

Crap -- I accidentally got into the OMG-I-should-be-asleep-already place, so now I'm nervous, and even less likely to sleep. Bah. Will lie in bed anyway.

Dougray sounds like a mess of stuff right now, but no, I'd not have pegged him as Scottish.

I loved the Steve McQueen lookalike moment--I'm assuming that was a Thomas Crowne shoutout.
