They should film that story and show it every Christmas.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I always think Strega Nona. Is that wrong?

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Strega:

It did appear kind of plant-like when it's first introduced. You see something that looks like tree branches in a window and then it turns out to be a hand. It was nicely creepy.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Anyone watching Law & Order du jour ? Writers can't tell the difference between a vulcan mind mold and a jedi mind trick? Bad Geeks.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

They've dated for intervals during that time, just not lately. It sounds more insane when summed up than it is. I think.

No, I like it. It's very charming.

Aha! It was a shtriga on Supernatural.

I think you're right that it was a shtriga on the show, but I think they spelled it striga. When I looked it up on wikipedia, it sounded like it had earlier root derivations. The Albanian shtriga is related to other witch/vampires such as the Romanian striga and the Roman strix. Of course, my eyes and my hearing isn't so good, if you think they actually used shtriga, they probably did.

Heh. You're not the only one. That's actually one of the Tomie dePaula books that I didn't read when I was little, so I didn't have that immediate association when I picked "Strega." But I had several of his books, and when I was maybe 6 my dad could get me to laugh just by saying "Tomie dePaula." I thought that was the funniest name ever. So it works.

If you want to tell this story, and are only refraining out of concern that people don't want to know, you should not have that concern. If you don't want to tell the story, you should drink more beer. Or do both.

Aw, thanks. More beer! But no, it's not a dramatic & painful story. See previous post, I guess. Turns out it's not so long after all! It just can sound like it's crazy in the bad way rather than crazy in the neat way. When he was telling me the whole story I was thinking, "Well, I'll be bummed about this later, but it is awfully sweet. Sigh."

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I really hope

Me too! But oh well. Poor Brooklynite! I should go bring him some soup. (Except I have no idea where in Brooklyn he lives.)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Does anyone have a CALM orange kitty they can mail me?

After my directors insistance that the character of Puss in Boots (a 10second walk on) be played by a woman in a giant orange mascot like cat costume, my joke about the character being played by my orange kitty in little boots... my directyor and designer now want the woman dressed as puss in boots carring my craxy cat across the stage in a boot! Whiel I am a) crossing the stage in th opposite direction as Puss in Boots, playing my character of "woman wih laundry" and b) doing quick changes. There are also 2 pigeons, a lamb and a dog in this show!!!!
