Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Just how competitive did you get?

I think I played it off pretty well. Because I won. Lord knows what would have happened otherwise.

But I think I'm much better at not having to win at combat things now that I'm around so many people that can kill me with their eyelashes.

I think.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

You never actually get killed and knocked out of the game, it's more a score system, so you don't know until it's over just how badly you were doing.

Oh, I don't know. I reckon I can come up with some ongoing criteria with personal significance at least.

Number of times contestant tripped over own feet
Number of times contestant walked into wall, imagining it to be an exit
Number of times contestant dropped gun and fell to knees shouting "Don't shoot! I want to live!"
Number of times contestant accidentally shot self
Number of times contestant received concussion from impersonating a character in a John Woo film

Oh! That I could do. As long as I can stay in the game, I don't care if I don't play well. Well, not all games; some of them I get very miffed if I don't play well. But not the physical ones.

Edited the porn right out of that post, thankyouverymuch.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Our wings are not tired

I want to run into the arena in a cloud of doves.

Yeah, learn from my experience. The doves never quite behave the way you'd expect, you'll feel really guilty if you land on one, and no laundry bill will get the lining of your coat back to the way it was.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The dog is breakfasting on minestrone, because I forgot to pick up chow last night. I have a feeling I'll be kind of glad to head off to work, because even a tiny bit of pasta turns her all crazy.

She's not complaining, that's for sure. There's some spice or something in it that's had her panting after it since I made it. Weirdo.
