Don't quote me, but isn't the "chemical reaction" in a shell casing dependent on O2 to actually burn? Most firey explosions have that problem.
I mean, the way the episode was set up, it wasn't exactly a plot point; I thought it was a nice nod to Physics Reality.
Chocolate never belongs in oatmeal cookies. Blerg. Raisins are fine, though.

It has it's own O2. If it didn't, the cartridge would do more of a smolder than a bang.
Yeah, you'd think that anti-shark guns would still fire if one encountered a Space Shark.
Good point. Space Sharks probably have lasers too.

Sarameg is wise in the way of oatmeal cookies.
I am really trying to figure out who Vera is and which Buffista has a spiffy spacesuit. And why are there no pictures?
ETA: Nevermind. Space show. Got it.
So sad that Tom is an oatmeal raisin cookie hata. I have much love for the oatmeal cookie. She's so strong, she can take on anything and still be good - plain, with raisins, with chocolate chips. I've not had the peanut butter chip variety, but now I want to.

Vera is a "Callahan fullbore autolock, customized trigger and double cartridge thourough-gague," according to when Jayne tried to give it to Mal. Don't know if that matters at all...?

Yup. That's what the potassium nitrate in black powder is for.
Chocolate and oatmeal together = heavenly!
