See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I really really want that to be an accurate number.

They were just talking about it over at Salon.com -- unless he's had his numbers changed in the last 18 hours, both numbers are real.

Why? Are you having a hard time choosing between sushi and pizza for dinner? You should totally call him for help.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, much more complex than that--should I drive or BART it tomorrow, and should I dress for rain or not.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

What? I did miss something! Was it when I was skipping this week or something?

Holy shit! Better tell his staffers it's urgent.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

You should totally call him for help.
I need to figure out what to wear to the movie tonight. And what movie to see unless Pamela has pre-chosen.

I'll put him on speed-dial.

Numfar, do the Dance of Being on Vacation until Next Friday!

Made all the sweeter by the fact that I just finished in less than a day the surprise design work editors were expecting me to turn over to my minion for completion by the middle of next week. My only worry is that they'll remember this the next time I give them a work schedule estimate that has some padding built in.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Is it for sure, for sure, David? You, I mean?

All signs point to Yes. One week from today, I'm pretty sure.

Sorry, man.

Thanks.

If anyone's terribly bored, I need decorating advice.

I got an Oldham/Lazboy sofa & chair a year ago. (Crappy photo here if it helps at all. Ignore the rug, as I've tossed it.) I have given up on finding a coffee table I like, and am leaning toward getting this ottoman instead. Assuming I do...

The sofa & chair are a sort of mauvey color -- I think it's actually close to the color on that pic of the ottoman, but solid, not patterned. The living room is white, though I do intend to paint it eventually. The question is, what colors should I look at for the ottoman? Using the same fabric that's on the other furniture seems like way too much mauve. Would a different bold color be too Romper Room? What about grey? Or brown, so it reads more as a table? A pattern, maybe one with some mauve and another color I could use on the walls?

When I got the other stuff, Lazboy had a ton of fabrics, so I know the colors on the site aren't the only choices. I may try to run over there this weekend, and I'd like to have at least a vague idea of which set of swatches to concentrate on. So anything that helps me narrow down the options would be appreciated.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I vote grey, maybe a pattern with hints of mauve in it. We have an ottoman as a coffee table-ish thing AIFG!
