That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

My nieces and nephews all got Floam this year. It was so very cool.

What is even happening?

(Floam turned out kind of gross. Then it gets cool, but it starts out gross.)

I want those Zubbles.

Also, aerogel.

I really can't wait to torment the cats with colored bubbles.

JenP - Mar 20, 2006 2:28:47 pm PST #5187 of 10001

I totally want aerogel.

ETA: waits patiently for JZ to update Secret Santa 2006 list...

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I want floam just because it sounds so exactly like a product out of Futurama.

I would keep it on a shelf in the fridge right next to my 6-pack of Slurm.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Hm. I think I can get aerogel. But I really want Zubbles.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Aerogel is (I think) almost as light as air. I'm wondering if it's possible to create an aerogel-like substance that has no air molecules spaced in between its atoms. And if that's possible, would it be lighter than air?

If that were the case, it would have to be disposed of carefully. If you dropped it outside, it would just float up to, say, 10,000 feet altitude and stay there. Or until it "washed ashore" on a mountain. Or got hit by a plane.

Then there'd be a new job: LtA (Lighter than Air) Aerogel Waste Disposal. You'd fly around in a Zeppelin armed with a big net, as you went about rounding up floating clumps of LtA aerogel before they got hit by some plane....
